If there is one thing you'd be able to implement in Skyrim..

Post » Wed Feb 09, 2011 3:52 am

If you were able to go to the developers and they'd be able to implement one of your suggestions flawlessly or improve something likely already in the game, what would it be?

I'd go for something better than Fallout NV's companion system. (They did say they were working on it.)

A second choice would be to improve the way housing worked when compared to Oblivion. It didn't really feel like home.

Basically the combined ideas of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1169397-morality-and-recognition/ into one great system.

hardcoe-esque mode. Haha.
Otherwise, I'm pretty sure, I'll be darn close to being completely satisfied. But I don't know all of the content yet, so it's kind of premature to say exactly what i'd like in the game. Still have a while to go before it's out. ;)

You know, I don't really even care if I sound like a broken record. It's the only suggestion I really have for Skyrim beyond 'don't svck', so I'll just keep to suggesting it.

A spell (in the Illusion school) that lets you fly the camera around outside your body, letting you scout ahead, get good bird's-eye-views, and so on.

My ideals for http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1144150-character-development-and-you and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1107940-perks-they-can-make-each-play-through-a-unique-experience.

As I hinted at in this thread:

...

My ideal in skill progression system:

You start off with the lowest possible of a skill level, and you do random jobs that makes you more experienced in that skill, and you advance your skill level as you get more experienced in that skill, until you finally reach the next level of mastery in that skill, and are able to choose a perk suitable for your current level of mastery in that skill, and so on...

At first it is easier to progress your skill levels, but gradually it becomes harder to do that, as each level requires you to repeat those tasks more or find harder tasks to provide a larger boost in the experience gained.

If you can find a skill master that knows of a particular trick/perk related to that skill, and is willing to reach you and you have enough experience in that skill, and maybe attend a quest for the master or help him with a problem, then he would teach you the skill perk for a price.

Those perks are dependent on each other like a branching tree, so in order to learn the higher level perk; you have to learn the lower level perk on that branch.

...

It would be interesting if you could get a job. Such as working at a tavern using some of the new skills like cooking, etc.

Consequences for your actions for the way you treat people, getting actual jail time for murdering someone and a fine, for joining a guild as well (hopefully there will be opposing guilds/factions that you can choose from)

The ability to have people remember me. For example; I spend a few days running around town in rags and/or some crap outfit while saving up money, then after buying a nice set of clothing, having people comment and reflect. "Nice clothes "Insert name here" Much better than the rags you had before."

I miss the old weapon skills. Axe, Blunt, Blade. Each weapon type could have a different type of damage effect if it were implemented as such. But then that would require enemies to be resistant to some of those, which could severely hamper gameplay if done incorrectly.

Spears. Also more hidden items like that magic helmet at the bottom of the sea in oblivion. I want there to be loads of hidden treasure so much that you may be the only player to find it

Multiple paths in the main quest including multiple endings (no, I don't imply that Alduin should prevail, I only wish I could choose to help him and fail in the end alongside him, that's all).

A awesome story with lots of action, mystery, and political intrigue which the dragons are just a admittidly rather large part of rather then the main feature.

which is still active and on the first page.

A good story with deep dialogue and a lotta choices that make a difference in what's happening. Memorable characters that help me as companions (by companions I don't mean the usual subordinate robot, I mean people with distinct personality, with initiative, who ask questions about what you're doing, have romance options and will leave you if they don't approve your deeds).

Physics please! I want a world where my character can crawl, creep, walk, run, sprint, jump, grab, climb, and swing. I want such a character placed in a world that is crawl-able, climb-able, and swing-able! How fast, far, how high you can run, jump, and climb can be determined by your level & skills…but those floaty physics of past games needs to GO! Those flat/static buildings that in any other game would could climbable need to GO!
