For those people who don't know what installers are or don't use Wrye Mash, I'm guessing you don't use a lot of mods. I use well over 300 and I can't imagine managing them without Wrye Mash or installers.
It is very important to order your Wrye Mash installers because, when there are file conflicts, the last installer installed is the one that "wins".
I order my own installers by manually prepending a numeric prefix (I have 001 through like 135). This means I can install them easily on top of a brand new Morrowind installation, since they appear automatically in the right order in Wrye Mash. I can just select them all and right-click, install. BTW, for my installers, I use 7z files, although I have heard some people just using entire directories.
For installers that don't participate in any conflicts, I don't bother numbering them.
I guess there could be a program that does this numbering automatically. A lot of the ordering I choose is subjective, for example, for texture mods. But there are some installers that only make sense after other ones. For example, high-res textures for better bodies obviously should be installed after better bodies.
