Is there a sense of Closure in this game?

May I say now SPOILERS to those that may not have done all a lot of the things.

With that out of the way I personally feel that once you explode the Brotherhood or Institute and you get that little 'war never changes' speech thing I lose all interest in playing. I've done all the options, except for the Minutemen, and gotten to the "ending" if you can call it that, but what happens if you keep playing? Is there an ending I am used to seeing like Fo3 and New Vegas that shows me all that I have done and all the people I have helped or hindered. A sense of accomplishment?

So do more story lines open up after you help the Institute? You become supreme master of the Institute and then all they ask you to do is baby sit. Got secure this rally point. Go fetch me some mutant flesh. Am I missing something?

Become supreme Brotherhood paladin. We need supplies, go talk to settlement A. I need you to fetch me documents from office desks. Do fetch me some old world tech. Secure this rally point.

Become supreme Railroad agent Professor. We need you to go to the dead drop on the other side of the Commonwealth. Dead drop says to go to the other side of the Commonwealth to secure this rally point.

I'm sure its the same when you become supreme general of the Minutemen. Your settlement is under attack. The 12 turrets you put down and settlers with mini-guns cant handle the 3 raiders.

Everything just feels like a chore after that "war never changes" speech and because of it I do not get a sense of closure.

Now the Valentine companion quest was good. It had closure. Helping Weeny Mc'Radio had closure too. They felt like I accomplished something. But this "main story" just sort of ends with no real satisfaction.

'We defeated the Brotherhood!'

'Now what?'

'We won.'

'Yes, but what are we doing now.'

'Remember, a clean environment is a safe one. I am sorry if my cleaning duties interrupt you.'

In short, Fo4 should never have had that 'war never changes speech' half way through the game. I enjoyed more the recap at the end showing me all the accomplishments I did.

Fallout 3 never had any closure endings in the game. Which is the one thing that the other Fallout games do well, but Bethesda Fallout games don't have. In the other games, most choices actually mean something while very few choices matter in the Bethesda Fallout games.

They just repeated that word so much in the game it kinda losts its mysticism. In past games it was used like a sort of criticism of human's nature, the horrors of war and politic manipulations to the very end. With images of the vault boy and the goverment trying to pull off a good image of being the good guys when the world was at chaos while at the same time taking avantage of the patriotism to manipulate their citizens with terrible and unmoral actions, just like irl and all those terrible human projects. In Fallout 4 the phrase is used apologetically to justify the constant murder and anihilation of every living thing, no matter what you decide to blow up, or what faction to kill, after all "war, war never changes lol".

9 minutes seems like a long time to sit and watch, but I think it is well earned by the end of the game. Remembering all your adventures and all the things you did. It makes it feel like time had passed.
