There should be a perk for people weilding just a sword.

They could grab the person with there free hand and stagger them or pull them into their sword otherwise it would make no sense to just wield on one-handed weapon

Sword in right hand, attack or block. Sword in left hand, sword attack and hand to hand attack.

I know I won't. Why would you when you can duel wield. Or have a shield. Or a flaming ball of go [censored] yourself in your other hand.

Im sure they have finishing moves similar to those already.

Sword in right hand, attack or block. Sword in left hand, sword attack and hand to hand attack.

Wait... different effects based on which hand you use? What if i want to block and play as a lefty?

No i mean if you just have a sword or axe you should be able to do something special like grab'em and stab'em if they're staggered

Unless you mod it, you can't, unfortunately. At least the options are there. With a one handed weapon, you can use one handed parry, hand to hand, another weapon, a shield, a staff, or a torch. Plenty of options to be going on with, imho.

And if hand to hand still does stamina damage, then sword and fist or claw definitely sounds like a viable style.
