yea way more than 50 skill points

some quests give skill points

leveling gives u skill points

skyshards give u skill points

if u remember in one of the first videos they released they said u could master all available skill lines it just takes awhile

the only skillines u cant get are the other class skill lines on the same character so pick ur characters first class well

Previously they had said we would be able to learn all skills, with enough time and effort. But it seems that may have changed. Couldn't say for sure.

Will it be possible, thanks to level-ups, Skyshards, Alliance Ranks, and special quests, to gain enough skill points to acquire ALL the possible abilities for a given class and race?

With a game that will grow and change as much as ESO will, this is a tough question to answer! At launch, you won’t be able to max out every skill with the number of points available. However, we’ll be adding more skills and skill points, so it will be fluid. You might not be able to max out everything at once, but you might be able to have all but the class and racial skills, for example, completely unlocked at different times with a single character.

Same page incidentally (same time but different interview), but a bit higher you see them say:

Could a character advance all of their skills just through exploration of Skyshards?

Skyshards help you get more skill points. You still need to gain experience, influence (for the Fighters Guild, for example), or inspiration from crafting to advance and level your skill lines.

They don't answer "you can't advance all of your skills"? Since the question specifically says "all" their response implies that implies you can.

In theory yes, you also gain a skill point by collecting 3 skyshards & I have read ( forgot where, do not deem this 100% accurate ) that certain quest, events, exploration completion also regard Skill points.

I don't know about weapon swap cooldown. Something I'm curious about too.

As for picking for your 6 skills per weapon that is something you need to figure out.

Hypothetically, what profession do you want to play and what role - tank, dps, healer? Melee, ranged, both?
