Now,the bad thing is that,even if I use streamline and oblivion stutter remover, I get somehow fps below 30. Is it because of mods? I haven't installed any high res texture yet!OBGE not installed yet! I have done a lot of tests in these weeks by installing just better cities,osr,streamline,qtp3,all natural,obge and all went fine.

That "ITA FOT & Hexaae .esp" is just a esp which translated the game in a better way,using a more correct italian.

What's your computer specs? Also, have you adjusted Streamline and OSR to work together?

Pc specs:
Video card: msi gtx 560 ti 1gb ddr5
cpu: intel quadcore q6600 2,40ghz (I know it is becoming old)
ram: 3gb (should upgrade..)
os: win7 ultimate 32bit (are there any differences if I switch to 64bit version with 3gb of ram?)

the fps gets below 30 just sometimes,most times near water..or when I swing the sword(no enemies).

Pc specs:
Video card: msi gtx 560 ti 1gb ddr5
cpu: intel quadcore q6600 2,40ghz (I know it is becoming old)
ram: 3gb (should upgrade..)
os: win7 ultimate 32bit (are there any differences if I switch to 64bit version with 3gb of ram?)

the fps gets below 30 just sometimes,most times near water..or when I swing the sword(no enemies).

Nowadays there is almost no reason for the average user of Windows 7 to stick with 32bit. However, having only three gigs of ram negates much of Win7 64bit advantage. Does your motherboard use DDR2 or DDR3 ram? DDR3 modules are so dirt-cheap it makes sense to upgrade. (I just went from 6gig to 12 gig, not that I really needed to, but it cost me next to nothing.) DDR2 ram is expensive. I'd not recommend upgrading that since it is dead technology you can't transfer to a new computer.

I usually set this ini setting to 30, and min to 15, so that OSR forces FPS above or at 15.

Really, you want to cap your FPS to about 30 as anything more does not really yield any tangible benefits, and allows your system to do other things (AI routines, scripts, graphics etc.) more smoothly. In that case, you don't want to complain about an FPS of 30. :wink:

You also may want to try and change your

iHeapAlgorithm = 3

to either 5 or 6, and see if it makes an improvement.

I capped my fps,maximum=30 and minimum=15. Anyway,I'll do some tests.Firstly I'll try to launch the game,with mods activated but with a new and fresh oblivion.ini. Then I'll activate mods one by one to see what's causing this.


Somehow,I think I'll just wait for a skyrim texture "overhaul"..Oblivion seems so easily breakeable..I modded fallout new vegas and it runned fine.let me do those tests.

Problem solved. The strange low fps problem wasn't caused by mods nor by the game. I just setted some compatibility options wrongly in the nvidia control panel. Oblivion doesn't need or doesn't really support these kind of compatibility values(ambient occlusion compatibility)...Now everything runs fine after I resetted everything to default :) Thank you guys
