I joined the Thieves Guild just so I can sell all my stolen goods but when they issued me my armor I noticed it's brown. What kind of thief wears brown armor? I wanted black armor. Where can I get me some black armor?

The nightingale armor is all black and sports a pretty badass looking hood and mask, but it has a cape... which is kind of distracting lol

Nightingale isnt black though more of greyish color

I would personally like a set of the gray/silver one that Tonilia wears.

Don't sell the basic thieves armor btw, you will find the thieves questline broken if you do. Plus you find the nightingale armor later, which looks the best IMO.

Oddly enough, I generally keep one copy of every piece of armor or clothing I pickup. So, if I only get one copy then it gets kept. I only sell multiples. So, I'll never sell the brown Thieves Guild Armor and won't sell the Nightingale Armor. Thanks for the replies.

The armour Vex, Delvin, Mercer, and Brynjolf wear is called Guild Master's Armour. You can only get that at the very end of the TG quest line. As Wyatt mentioned, just keep working away at it, there's lots to do. Mainly...
