Alright, I'm stuck on this quest. I can't blow up the gas from the vents without dying. I can only seem to shoot them from up close, which kills me. I had the misfortune of exploring this place earlier and thus stripped it of all possible explosives that I could of used to blow it up and the only ones I have on me currently I cannot use since I don't have the right weapon. I also can't leave the vault because that researcher locked it. I've even tried shooting a body with incendiary rounds near the vent, setting it on fire, but it somehow didn't ignite the gas... I also don't have any saves even remotely close to the current. Anyone have any advice as to how I might complete this quest?

If so, go into the room right beside the vent, get as close to the hole in the wall before you chuck the nade, then run like hell.

Theres a seperate hallway to your left as soon as you enter that area. head all the way down that hallways and youll see its blocked of by miscellaneous junk. Toss a grenade over that blockage and run. thats how i did it

I threw a stick of long fused dynamite down the hall (be sure to throw it way down the hall) and ran to the door and shut it. I popped the atomic cocktail stuff (that makes you fire resistant) to help survive. Best deal (didn't have it at the time) is to get some C4 with a detonator and then I would think you were set (note I have not tried the C4 but it logically would be the best).

Console codes sense you can't leave the vault (remember using the console halts further steam achievements).

I dont have any explosives on me that I can use. As I said before, I came to the vault earlier to explore it and took whatever I could find including those grenades... thus using ANY form of explosives is out of the question, I dont have any.

Also I'm playing the 360 version, so I cant use the console commands

what guns do you have? if you have a sniper you might be able to shoot through the junk blocking the corridor and then run, just strip everything else off to go faster.

I have a sniper rifle, but I haven't had any success so far using any kind of gun to ignite the gas. Do I have to shoot directly into the vent or something?

I got it! I finally got it! OK, this is what I did. I stood in the very corner of the wall where the vent is and shot, It set me on fire but I was able to get up and heal before the fire killed me. I thought I would be stuck there forever!

Heh this quest is superbly written. All you need is a laser weapon, go to the room where you downloaded the files and stand behind the door switch. Shoot at the wall near the vent, watch the flames shoot out then quickly close the door! You could also toss an explosive or try with ballistics. I laugh every time I see people dying over and over again trying to survive the blast on forums. Now the problem is which option should I go for after talking to Keely again.

Where is Keely?!?

Keely is on level 2 genius. Where you just were when you got the quest to blow up the gas. You don't have a single explosive you can throw?

Actually that wasn't nice to respond that way, he actually hasn't met her yet so she is on the bottom level before she heads to level 2. Genius
