Is there a version of "That Gun" 5.56mm pistol in th

"That Gun" used to be my favorite wandering around gun. Pretty powerful, good looking, and it used a REALLY WELL AVAILABLE ammunition type. Is there an equivalent in Fallout 4? If not, maybe you could take an assault rifle and give it a short grip and shorter barrel and make it into a pistol?

As far as I found, nope closest you get to a hand canon like gun like that is to use a pipe bolt rifle, since it can take pistol grips and fires .308 rounds, which become quite abundant in tougher areas. But no that gun or look a likes.

I've not seen a hint such a weapon is in current game.

According to Google, The All Seeing and All Knowing, no such beast exists.

Sad face.

I know this will be rectified in coming months via mod community.

In the meantime, the 44 (mag I think going from damage range) is making me smile.

Yeah, gonna do a gunslinger build soon, I already know a location where one always spawns, so I can have one before I even go to concord.

I don't have the gunsmithing yet, but I've seen evidence that you can change gun caliber. Maybe it's possible to take a 10mm rig and upscale it to .223. I already need my .308 rounds for the sniper rifle. I do not know this is the case. I'm afraid the best we might do is to go to .44 but it looks like that is hard to find too and the beauty of "That Gun" used to be the easy availability of .223 ammo.

The hunting rifle that is the most iconic sniper rifle can be upgraded to .50 BMG for a very nice damage boost. that will free up your .308 rounds for other applications.

Nope, 10mm pistols never change caliber, again the closest you get to a .308 pistol is to put a pistol grip on a pipe bolt gun.

A couple of people have started looking into making a mod to bring in mod able recreations of the guns from previous fallouts.

But realise that at this point that will be a massive task since in Many cases, entire new animation sets will be needed, never mind adding mods to many of the guns and melee weapons, many of which never had more than a handful of mods in the first place if that.

As for
