Is there a way to add my own category to the GECK menu?

So if you go to Statics, you'll see a number of headings like Architecture,Dungeons etc., and if you click on those you can get into a sub-category. Is there a way I can add my own category so all the statics I add will be listed there? I'm getting a pretty large number of them with this project I'm working on it and would greatly simply things if this were possible.

I don't know if it's possible to create new categories, but if you use consistent naming conventions then you could use the GECK's filter to group them.

Yes, I just discovered that one. I always prefix my stuff with a2z so that will make it much easier to find. Still, it would be nice to be able to set up some subcategories as well. I'm going to have to come up with a convoluted naming system in order to keep track of everything. I'm going to end up with at least 200 static items with what I'm working on, possibly more. It's already turning into a bit of a nightmare.

Yes I know. The problem is keeping them all sorted in the GECK itself. The filter function will certainly help though, I didn't know that existed until just a short while ago. I'll still have to figure out a naming convention to keep everything straight though. I've already gone through two of those already. I'm in the process right now of reorganizing everything in my Data folder, setting new paths for everything I've been working on the past week. It's a tedious process to say the least.

Those are just the paths. If you make a new folder in /meshes and put stuff in it, it will appear as a new sub-category.

OMG, I didn't know it worked that way, there it is. That was easy. Thanks guys, that saves me a whole bunch of work. I had already made my own folder just to keep things straight on my hard drive, I didn't realize it would also show up in the GECK. Cool! :celebration:

Yes, I know. I just didn't understand what you meant. No offense, but Talkie Toaster just explained it a bit more clearly. I did say "Thanks guy(s). I do appreciate you mentioning it, which is why I used the plural there. That little bit of knowledge is making a huge difference in working on my project.
