Is there a way to alter the AuthorDescription fields of an E

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 7:59 pm

I have a persistent error in the CS whenever I try to change/add the Author name or a description to an ESP. This happens with both the CS and CSE.

I mentioned this to ShadeMe, but I'm coming up on a really major release and I'd like my ESP file to have a proper description and Author in it, and well...I can't as things stand.

This is the error I get:

[CS] This operation was not completed because CreateFileMapping failed to open file "Grand Unified Female Armor Replacer.esp" with error:
Access is denied.

Exit other applications, restart the Construction Set, and try again.
[CSE] Assertion handled at 0x0043682E

I've tried shutting down all Explorer windows and Wrye Bash first, numerous combinations of active an inactive file, happens with a brand new ESP and existing ESPs. No matter what, it doesn't work.

I would have thought that either Bash or TES4Edit could do it, but I can't find a function for it. So, is there a way, or am I just SOL?

I get the same problem with descriptions in the CS (haven't tried Author name though). I found that I could edit it with Wrye Bash, so my guess it would work with Author name as well.

In Wrye Bash, highlight the mod in question. The Author and Description should appear on the right hand side. These fields are actually editable and the Save button will no longer be greyed out once a change has been made.

Huh. Thats...very simple. I would have sworn I tried it, but maybe not. I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

And it works.

I guess I just managed to never see the "Save" button before.

Thanks again.
