Is there a way to make ammo only available to the player?

Post » Sat Jul 23, 2011 5:39 pm

I made some energy cells that damage fatigue, all i edited was the ammo list for energy cells so that the gun would use them, but....lol....some people spawned with it, then spammed me with it, and since it does almost no damage i was just stuck on the ground getting killed slowly. so my question, is there any way to make it only effect NPCs or any other way to avoid this problem.

Thanks in advance.

no, it isnt a cheat, i run out of ammo, they aren't. i only placed about 50 of them in the game purposely and made it do 1 damage so i couldnt use it to kill people, but unlike me (who isnt using companions) they have other npcs that will do damage. Plus, i could just use the cattle prod (which is the fatigue damage i used) and it would be the same, but i wanted this for my energy weapon character.

the easiest way would be to just rename one of the existing ammos to something else and then add your fatigue affect to the new object. then you can either add it to levelled lists or hand place some cells yourself. if you change existing ammo anyone can take advantage of it.

if you dont want npcs to use the new ammo just dont add it to any lists. the ammo they use versus the ammo you find on them when you loot them are on seperate lists from eachother.

I assume you added the new ammo to the formlist for that weapon? It's probably in the first "slot" then, and is being considered the "default" ammo type for that weapon.

rofl, okay, never really messed with ammo, normally just messed with interiors, didnt know that mattered =P it is definatly in the first slot, ill fix it then report back if it doesnt change.

didnt realize, but now that i think about it, i was finding A LOT of it pretty much everywhere.

The ammo was a new item and the only list i modified was the ammo list for what ammo the weapons use that way i could fire it. thanks for the advice anyway.

EDIT: @Konork Thank you so much =D it worked!
