Is there a way to make the female iron armor use the male me

I don't like the shaped iron blouse. It's a niggle I'd like to fix.

You can make a quick patch yourself, by opening up Oblivion.esm in TES4Edit and switching the female version to point to the male version of the mesh. Click on 'Name', to sort records by name. Then, expand the armor branch and you should be able to find Iron Curaiss or whatever its called. Right-click on the record and choose 'Copy to...'. Select 'New plugin.' Once you've done that, select the record in the new plugin. Under the model data, copy the path for the male version and replace the path for the female version with it. If you use Wrye Bash, open it up, and tag the plugin with 'Import Graphics', 'NoMerge' and 'Deactivate'.

Happy gaming!

An alternative to the above would be http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34242 This is designed for HGEC so if you use a different body there will be some oddness at the wrists if bare-handed. Of course this is also true of using the iron male cuirass mesh with any female body.

Extract the mesh for the male iron armor from your Oblivion meshes BSA (meshes/armor/iron/m/cuirass), or if you use a male body mod and an armor/clothing replacer for it, find the mesh for the male iron armor it includes (it should be named cuirass.nif, either way). Make a copy of that cuirass.nif, then place the copy in the meshes/armor/iron/f folder. That should do it.

Yep, this is what I use now (having found it just the other day).

I would like to see a more, um, "taped down" version, however. So yes, more close to the male meshes, actually.

The OP also posted in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1156734-female-iron-armor-uses-male-mesh/page__pid__16942131#entry16942131 and someone made just that for their own use. I too would prefer female armour to be scaled versions of male although the Roberts meshes I use are pretty subtle compared to some.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it'll be uploaded somewhere, sometime.

Heh, I saw the thread in the CS forum first. I didn't notice that somebody had already mentioned my mod here.

But anyway yeah, I wanted to release a taped down version too (Robert's specificially), but when I got around to actually modifying the meshes, it was a lot harder than I expected and I decided to just do it for one body type. Honestly it was pretty foolish of me to do this as my very first 3D modeling/UV mapping project. I would like to make a Robert's conversion someday, but no I have to ETA on that.

I'd love to see a Robert's (female) version of your armour :)

@Documn

I love what you did with the chainmail especially. You went a bit further you had to and it looks all the better for it. I use the shortened version and like the way it reveals the upper detail on the greaves.

A Roberts version may be preferable but the HGEC works with Roberts good enough for me. I'm not a fan of 'metal boobs' (ie. plate armour) - just seems silly but very subtle bumps on chainmail, fur etc makes sense.

This thread actually reminded me to endorse your mod (I'm a shocker for that):)
