Is there a way to read old comics online?

I really love collecting comics, and I really love super hero stories. the only problem, however, with being a collector, is you obviously don't read a 200 dollar comic book. You just look at it. :(

Are there any places I could read the Amazing Spiderman series onilne? I mean the one started in 1963 and went from 1-700.

I think Comixology has lots of Amazing Spiderman back issues / collections.

You can get them in CBR format or Comic Book Reader, that lets you have it in digital form.

Just looked at Comixology, their prices are absurd. If I wanted to read all 700 comics, it'd cost me like..2 grand. LOL.

Comixology is stupid. You pay to read comics and get absolutely nothing in return. Almost like paying for downloadable games.

And you'd pay less buying physical copies? I think not. It's either Comixology or Marvels own site. Either way you're going to be paying the same prices.

This doesn't even make sense. Your favorite part of a video game is the box, disk and two page "manual"?

Anyway, I get most of mmy comics through the Marvel and DC smartphone apps or Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble tends to sell collected editions rather than individual copies, usually at around twenty bucks. Selection at my local store isn't spectacular though.

It makes sense when you're older than 20 like I am and remember days of real game disks, game boxes and real manuals that are more like books. Kind of the same thing with comics and books. I don't want to read a comic or book on my phone or tablet and pay a premium to do so. Some of the prices of comics on Comixology are insane for nothing. I like the feel of paper in my hand and the sound of the pages turning and the smell of comics and books. I'd rather have a physical game in my hand and I'd rather have a physical comic/book in my hand.
