Is there a way to remove ESM dependencies?

Post » Sun Nov 01, 2009 12:52 am

I feel stupid for this, but I've been working on a mod for the past 6 hours and I closed the CS to check its gameplay. Anyways when I went to open back up to finish it I noticed that I had several ESMs checked besides the Original three. I really would rather not start over, so is there a way to remove the dependencies of the other ESMs?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Open up Wyre Mash uncheck the dependencies and then click save. Open it back up in the CS and resave it to clear out any possible contaminate objects. Check the mod to make sure it is clean and functional still before doing more work on it.

There might be a better safer way to do it that I don't know about.

There is TESDTK (The Elder Scrolls Dependency Tool Kit) that can be found in the http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=modding_data/utils area. From the description on the site:

TESDTK
TESDTK is a tool that can remove master file dependencies from a plugin file. Everything from dependencies on other .esp files to Bloodmoon.esm or Tribunal.esm can be removed, which makes it a great tool for everyone who wants to take a look at plugins that requires masterfiles they don't have.
TESDTK requires the Java Runtime.

I used it a long time ago, I remember it working rather simplistically. Might be worth a try.
