No. Only the providers listed here will have dedicated servers. That's probably due to the global rank, if they allowed private server it might be too easy to hack yourself to a higher rank.

And yes, that svcks. I guess we won't get an SDK, either, for the same reason.

Alright that was Crysis 2 MP for us guys. Sure the "trusted dedicated servers" news was up earlyer, but to hear that they confirm it, that is a total death to this game series. You have to admit they (EA/Crytek) have the balls to hammer the guys down that made Crysis 1 + Wars running all those years. We will shutdown some servers soon and move forward to other games.

The hurt is huge and massive!
There goes the tournaments, servers to have fun and so called promise "multiyear" gaming is over. Not even to mention the friends we get to know (or from other clans). Total separation and why Crysis 2 isn't hardly mentioned at Crymod.com where the brains came together to make stuff. Same happend with Farcry 1 to have a other forum.

Trust me, hackers place (even when they do "cat and mouse" to beat them), stock maps will wear you out, (I bet) custom maps can't be done or Modded custom maps.

So i cannot host my own 7OXICITY server for crysis 2 for my guys? - I don't want to direct them to "generic-hosting-server-no.253" what tosh... i hoped for customization abilities like the previous crytek PC games... maybe it's too early to say, but in the name of 'cheat prevention' i can understand a little but for some of us out there this just isn't cricket! - I'm not too chuffed with you CT, hmmmm :/

Glad i cancelled my pre-order.

no editor is pretty much certin now. a shame. if this turns out to be true i sort of hope cry2 does horribly. I would be mad if it did well considering how they have done everything wrong so far and dont deserve to get rewarded for it.

"No dedicted server files" basicly means, you can not access the root or above.

That is not an Editor. That is access to the game-engine CE3.

Massive pre-orders cancelled now. That is all what I am hearing and reading. Nope >XI< will run a server for 1 / 2 months and that is it, if that is it.

Yes, they can only save a bit by the Editor (still) and a custom folder like our COD4/5 folders are plus client mod download. I doubt it as it requires access by FTP to certain folder(s).(And still won't prevent hackers/cheaters)

after hearing this i am not going to buy this game anymore , my mind changed totally !

Not getting this for PC, but seriously? I've liked everything about the game so far, but WHY on earth dont they do dedicated servers?! Just WHY?! I want to know WHY they make the online experience worse for PC gamers.
