"There will be no survival mode on Skyrim remastered&#34

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:17 pm

Because some of us want to experience it officially developed by Bethesda Game Studios without mods and for The Elder Scrolls video games for once?

And there's some of us who still did not purchase to this day today still Fallout 4, so we can't experience what Fallout 4's Survival Mode is like.

Yes, but "want" and "expect" are two different things. I want Bethesda to re-write and expand quest lines, put put back game mechanics that I sorely miss like Attributes and Spellmaking and to fix the many hundreds of bugs that they left us with when they moved on to work on Fallout 3. But do I expect these things? No, I do not.

I think Renee's point was that it is futile to *expect* new content in a remastered version. Want, yes. Expect, no.

And I want Bethesda to stop what they're doing and re-master oblivion with a new engine, updated graphics and full controller support for the PC. (I'm not even joking) it's been top of my 'if only' dream list for 10 years :liplick:

I'm not sure if complaining about wanting something about it a lot works at all, but Bethesda Game Studios is releasing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remastered for PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4), and Xbox One which is something they have never done before.

Or Bethesda Game Studios are doing it to not let the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim port when they did it to get used to the architecture of the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One and not let it go to waste.

Lol! I want that too! And I'm not joking either. I'd love to see Oblivion in 64 bit/dx11, with native controller support. The old 32 bit engine is a huge limiting factor for Oblivion modding, especially if you combine performance intensive mods with distant land.

Yes, me too. I would gladly pay full price for a 64-bit Oblivion.

Why don't you just buy it. We all know you want it.

Very good, Selene. :cookie:

I wanted this too, believe me. From the early days during which I discovered Oblivion, I wondered why all the food in the game is basically useless, so far as survival goes (and sleep is really only useful for leveling up and roleplay purposes). One of the first mods I installed in Skyrim was Frostfall, followed by a mod which makes food, drink, and sleep actually matter.

It just seems silly to me though, to expect that because Beth is remastering the game, that they'll add this one feature to it which has not traditionally been in ES games before, and which only a percentage of gamers would want or use. I mean, if you want to ask Beth to put this feature in TES6, I'm behind you all the way, because they'd be building that game from the ground up.

And then IF Beth did add some sort of survival mode, now the folks who wanted Spell Creation are pissed. "What about us?" .... The folks who wanted mismatched armor & clothing sets feel left out. It's better Beth stops at better graphics, which (I assume) are a relatively easy upgrade from them, meaning that they can now focus on wrapping up FO4 and moving on to whatever project is next.

But that does not change the fact that Bethesda never said or hinted that there would be any kind of new content in the remastered version. That's why I just don't get why people are surprised.

And what is up with this Fallout 4 boycott? I can understand why someone may not want to buy a game, but you have kept bringing this up since last year. You don't want to buy it. We get it. We've gotten it for almost 12 months now.

Yes we know Pete Hines said that only graphical improvements will be done to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.

Still some of us want official content developed by Bethesda Game Studios. That fact will never change.

And I keep saying that I have not still purchased Fallout 4 to this day today still because I want to experience Fallout 4's Survival Mode. What I have read about it so far sounds fantastic and a few of the new additions that Lady Selene posted in his comment I did not see some of that information before.

Is there a reason you sound like ad copy?
