If that′s the cynical image you wanna create of the game that′s your problem, games can′t be made to satisfy everyone *shrugs*

Maybe because ya know, they want to actually keep something a surprise? I welcome a game where I dont know half the story in advance via previews.

How you managed to jump to all of those conclusions is beyond me.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Seriously though, I'm kinda enjoying the lack of info as I have a tendency of getting WAY overhyped and not even sleeping for a day or two before Bethesda releases. This time the hype has been fairly low and I'm happy about that.

The less a developer/publisher shows about a game the more sceptical and cautious the potential buyer should be. There's a reason why devs and/or pubs want to avoid too much info being leaked about their product.

in some cases to hide a bad product, but not always, sometimes it′s genuinely to use the curious appeal of the unknown, or to avoid the critique of overselling your game, especially lately with more and more games getting paned because devs tell us players too much about a game.

Again the point is being missed. I generally buy season passes because I'm certain I'll want most if not all the DLC anyways. What I don't like is we don't know anything about the season pass and what it offers. That is not standard procedure for season passes. When a season pass is announced, the publisher will at least give us a general overview of what its going to offer. All we know is BGS says it will be worth "$40 dollars," so they are allegedly giving us a $10 discount for whatever they decide to make. I'd just like to know a few basic facts, such as how many DLCs they plan on making and what kind. They don't need to give all the details, just a general idea.

I don't mind being left in the dark, minus the basics, which we have. We know how the game's premise goes and starts, we got a feel for the combat and the other mechanics, what else do I need without delving too deep down the rabbit hole?

Personally, I don't like it when a game just spills all the details on you. Peter Molyneaux was infamous for that, and a lot of his clout turned out to not really be what we were getting. It's like, you know you're going to get that present on your birthday, and you've gotten some hints to what it might be, and that generates excitement. But if you know too much about what is inside that present, it diminishes the joy of finding out for yourself.

Todd Howard and Peter Molyneux actually have a lot in common though. The major difference is that Todd's games were resounding successes while Peter's games were moderate hits. After the first Fable, Lionhead Studios went downhill and Peter became infamous. Todd has been fortunate as the popularity of TES and Fallout continues to expand. Had things been in reverse, I think Todd would be in Peter's current situation. They both are known for exaggerating what their games can do. They both are incredibly effective salesmen. One has just been more successful than the other.

Considering my prediction a few posts before your comment that the videos would be released one per week starting tomorrow, and then 3 hours later the first one is released, I would call that fairly close lol!

The season pass is questionable. If they're going with the skyrim model, we'll get 2-3 dlc valued at 40-45 bucks. In the long run, you save 15 - but it's no guarantee.

I've seen enough of fallout 4 to know what I'm purchasing. The 35 min showcase and the 7 min pormhub leak saw to that. I also know what kind of things to expect going in to a Bethesda game - bugs galore. But it's something I'm ok with because of the nature large scale, open world games. I tend to overlook the bugs due to the sheer scale and beauty of the world.

At this point though, I want to see more fallout 4 for the sake of seeing more.

Agree, and I actually feel like seeing more previews is really important for me personally because I haven't played since Fallout 2, which is because of their focus on first-person. I know I am of the vast minority when it comes to this, but I need to see more footage on what they've put into third-person for FO4 before I commit to anything.

I don't want them to reveal anything about the story but I had hoped by now we would know a little more about the innovations this game is going to have. Such as what requires a loading screen, how has the AI of NPCs been improved, how in-depth are the romances. There is still so much we don't know.

And most likely we will not know much more before launch, in Beth eyes the material has serves its purpose and anyone not onboard yet just have to wait for post release reviews. My 2 caps on the subject.

hence the need to create this thread

So excellent. We can agree not to disagree on how completely pointless it is to speculate on what Beth opts to reveal before FO4 drops in Nov.

They've said they don't want to spoil much and want the player to discover it for themselves. You could take this either way but they also don't really need to show much as they already know the game is gonna sell.
