The King? I don't think so, if the King and Rex could follow you, that would be weird. Also, the King has a gang to manage, so he can not go following the Courier around.

A mod for a companion that we know nothing about except the back of his vest, his hair, that he's black and has one tag-line?
Wouldn't be the same.

Hmm so if Neil never said that part about about re-routing other mutants to Jacobstown he'd fit as a companion?
Could work.

Private Halford, After his squad was massacred, I was hoping i'de be able to have him as a companion, Until the end of the war..

His perk would've been similar to this name "War Wounds: If you are crippled, It won't affect your ability in combat."

I think the problem with Victor being a companion is that even in hardcoe mode he wouldn't be able to die. His A.I. would just be uploaded to another securitron and there you go, brand new Victor.

Good point. Maybe after his first "death" he refuses to follow because Mr. House doesn't want to waste his securitrons since they can't be easily manufactured.

Carrie Boyd

and

Option to create a companion using the same character creation you did to make your character int he beginning of the game. While I like all the companions that are included in the game, none of them I really feel connected to nor can really roleplay with....being able to create my own would solve this problem. (I'm on 360, so can't use the GECK).

Sometimes I've wanted that too, in other games. It's seemed pretty standard to have to find them within the game tho. Well, sometimes you can summon pets but...
It's definitely (for me) a large part of an rpg's appeal/longevity when I do end up with a high connection with one or more of the companions.

As to other npc's it might be fun to have as a companion...hmm. I might have liked having Hanlon come with me after his quest was over if a decent motivation could be found for it.

Private Edwards - If you don't get to send him to Camp Ghoul (or whatever it's called), you can take him as a companion instead of just letting him wander the wastes or leaving him to rot were he is. Plus he's as good as Boone with a rifle (but not with a chainsaw)

Perks - Extra protection against radiation and everytime you meet a doctor you get a free health bonus because they feel sorry for him. And his, now radiation free, house becomes a marked safe house.

Yeah I'm sure the leader of a faction will just up and leave to serve under the command of a stranger.

Lose Rex as a companion...and make Pacer the new Leader of the Kings in lew of the King, I mean it is a game right why would that be weird? How about Mick or Ralph...Just because they own a shop would that make it weird.....Think outside of the box ice...Also, you wouldn't be a stranger after completing all the quest for them...WoW I am getting flamed for being so brash as to think that a leader of a faction would join me in my quest to dominate his little world...Maybe throw the King some power after we take down NCR, the Legion and House......BTW I am the baddest ass MoFo in the Mojave and the King would be stupid not to join me

It would be nice to activate a quest to be able to set a radio message for those who listen to Black Mountain Radio telling them to go to Jacobstown instead. This would leave Neil free to join you in your travels.

Hmm, yeah but what do we do about the respawning super mutants and the fact that if Neil is free to go then the station is unprotected?

How about Tomas, with the lucky star-bottle-cap necklace? I watched him walk off across the dry lake bed between two giant rad scorps, and they never even noticed him!

Increases your luck by 3 points, or maybe decreases the luck of enemies, so their aim goes off. Maybe you find more loot/ammo in boxes...

And for this thread, what about their side quest stories? That's one of the greatest things about NV, keeping me playing into my 4th character just to see the companions' stories!

Tomas is so nice to everyone, he seems not too bright, so it would be fun to find out he was House's great- great- great- nephew, and he was actually pretty smart in his way. He could reveal some awesome Robco/Repconn secret that he never cared about. He would have a sympathetic word for enemies even as he defended himself, and a very optimistic disposition.

... or maybe that would get too irritating after a while, like Boone's lack of a sense of humor...

I have to say it WAS very disappointing that Sunny Smiles couldn't be persuaded to adventure with you. Wouldn't mind hearing that rather sixy voice of hers every once in a while.

Her perk could be Expert Hunter (+10 sneak, +10 Survival, +5 AP) or Survivalist (all campfire recipes unlocked, food's healing effect doubled). Or she could have Cheyenne with her instead of having any perk at all.

Ghost, the sniper from the Mojave outpost could be a companion. Her perk could give you +10% accuracy during night-time.

Rotface (the ghoul beggar)

Weapons
Ranged-12.7 mm pistol
Melee-switch blade

Perk Associated

Friendly disposition- When he is with you, Reputation with different factions rises faster and decreases slower.

That would be more reasonable. Though I'm not sure how I would feel about a ghoul following me around called "Rotface".
