Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood...

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:31 pm

Well.... i always wanted to join one of those...
But in Skyrim i don't feel satisfied joining it..

I mean, i like to RP my character a little bit, and i'm a Dragonborn, and my "destiny" is to save Skyrim from Alduin and slay the Dragons.... I mean, the player is kinda based to be Important and be a good guy, and as i said i like to RP my character, how can this charatcer wants to Join one of those "factions", it doesn't makes sense to me that an important guy destined to save Skyrim can join any of these "Factions" and be "bad" ...

Also be treated like a mere apprentice.... i mean, i'm the Dragonborn !

So what could be the reasons to the Dovahkiin join the Thieves Guild for example ?

Sorry for my incredibly bad English...

EDIT: And no this is not a Troll Attempt...

You have the soul of a dragon. Most dragons seem to be fairly power hungry and mean. You're saving the world so you still have a playground to rule!

At least you could think of it like that.

Actually in Oblivion i did not "started" the Main Quest, and just went straight away to join the Dark Brotherhood

I've got my reasons.

Nero, my Khajiit duel-dagger stealth thief, has a fascination with the concept of "change". He enjoys watching the ebb and flow of history unfold before him, changing it to his will. Finding out he was Dragonborn only heightened his obsession of change. His actions now would have a direct affect on all of Skyrim and possibly all of Tamriel. His moral code is not simply black and white, but assorted shades of grey. Everything he does benefits him somehow. And so, through these principles, he discovers a Daedra Prince by the name of Nocturne, Lady Luck. Who better to serve than the one who can change the flow of history on a whim?

Loss brings about change, remember that.

An excerpt behind the story of Nero "The Dark Hero of Sovngarde"

Also, take into consideration that maybe your character wishes he had never been Dovahkiin to begin with? Be creative man!

Well, think of it as this... You're saving the world from Alduin, but instead force it to face a much greater threat - yourself. The Dovahkiin is destined to save the world, but there's nothing saying they can't [censored] up the world after saving it.

Who says your character cares about being dragonborn? Look at it that way.

That's why people playthrough a second time. I'm playing as a mage but I refuse to join any other faction besides the college. Also, I won't finish the main quest until I pick a nord player. This is a bethesda game which means you can do whatever you want.

Well it is my belief that the dragonborn doesn't need to be a completely good person. I mean, the Dragons were meant to be complete evil according to some Bethesda members. So if you're dragonborn, who says you have to be 100% moral? Besides, i feel like in medieval lore, the good guys are rarely pristine.?

You can still be an evil person but if the world ends, you can do no harm to people. So save it first, enjoy killing in future. It's win-win!

My current RP character has not talked to Jarl of whiterun so I cant use dragon shouts yet. She has idea why the walls glow like they do when she sees them. Eventually when the dragon attacks the watchtower she'll happen to be there when it happens. Have to use your imagination beyond what the game presents to you.

Balthak is partially correct about dragons being evil. They are actually bent towards the idea of pure domination, no two ways about it. It is in their nature, but it CAN be overcome.

Just pretend they're powerful spells (which is really what they are) and forget about the dragonborn nonsense.

Dont use them.

That's how I'm playing my stealth thief. I couldnt give two [censored] about being Dragonborn; in fact, I'm using it more as being a curse, a fight within myself.

Good point !

I was thinking about my Character backstory, the reason why i was in that carriage with Ulfric and Ralof...
I was a thief once, but i got caught and i was going to be executed... BOOM That's makes sense why my character would join the Thieves guild..

Again good point about the Greybeards and the Thu'um

My Breton mage is joining the Dark Brotherhood if she happens to save Skyrim at the same time, she doesn't care. She won't be doing the thieves guild because she doesn't steal, but if she can kill a few imperials mores the better. She would love to burn the beeotch imperial soldier (female) who ordered her execution even though she wasn't on the list and she's definitely supporting the Stormcloaks. Never get a Breton mad.
