Things I Find Right and Wrong in Oblivion

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2011 12:16 am

Okay, first things first, this is no way is stating that these things need to be fixed, they're just my opinion of what's wrong.

First thing, Anyone else hate how you can't decide to be a necromancer? I mean come on, who doesn't like the idea of running rampant and stealing peoples souls? Especially because anyone that gets in your way can become your minion.

Secondly, Has anyone else been question, likes to use magic or a bow, and then they go to shoot a bad guy. and they're own teammate gets in the way and then suddenly you're a murderer when it's their own damn fault? That happened to me, while I was at the very end of the Knights of the Nine quests.I had to do the pilgrimage all whilst my teammates were sitting there like, "The hell? Where is he? He was just here?"

Third, I don't get it, someone help me out. In a world where there's no electricity, if I murder someone 200 miles from all civilization, no witnesses, and he yells, "Guards!" because I wasn't sneaking, How do they find out? If a robber comes into my house, and I yell, "Cops!!" before he kills me, are they gonna know? (I mean sure they have magic, but how accurate can that be when they're 200 miles away.)

Fourth, Anyone else wish there was some cool combat moves? You know, for you Assassins Creed Brotherhood fans like I am, how he does all those cool assassinations, this is just, Swing, if you hit him, great, if you miss, great. Rinse and Repeat.

Fifth, I am a third person fanatic, I hate first person, I like seeing what's going on around me, and what my character looks like, whether he looks [censored], or like a hero. With that in mind, I want to be a mage and an archer, so, uh. There should be crosshairs of some kind in third person, I can't attempt to assassinate someone with one arrow and just pray to Akatosh that it hits him, it doesn't work that way.

Sixth, This game is fun, but where's the online arena or something? And no new mods for the console version, (Which I have) other than Shivering Isles and KOTN? Gay.

Seventh, Referring back to my first topic, I understand the point of the MQ, to save the world from the daedra blah blah blah. What if I don't want to? I want to join Dagon and destroy the world, or I want to do something that is evil, and I'm not talking just pitiful things like murder or stealing, I want to start my own cult, and I want to be able to make my own house, or set up my own shop to sell items, I want to make my own guild, I want to do something that I personally would like to see in a game. I mean come on, if Mankar Camoran can have his paradise, where's my paradise? I want to be able to make a dungeon and populate it with creatures and traps that I find, like engineering skill.

Eighth, Can't we get like pets or some shiz? I want a damn puppy! No not like Shadowmere, I want to have a pet dragon or something, something awesome, but I want it to be able to be trained and such, I mean come on, everybody deserves a puppy.

Ninth, There's a reusable everything except for repair hammer, that's a little ridiculous.

Tenth, The spells in this game are pitiful graphically, I mean, like the Wizards spell you gain in the Mages guild, lets be honest, who else thought it was going to be a swirling ball of firey frosty coolness? Anyone? Just me? Okay.

Eleventh, If I put items in a chest, those items better damn well be there a week from then, but normally, no, this is not the case. Some [censored] comes, steals all my enchanted loot, like my enchanted Blade of Woe, and then walks away. (Yes I know it's the game resetting for you trolls.)

Now for the good, Note that you can say something and I'll add it to my list, these are just the ones that I'm thinking of now.

One, The graphics are still very good for a 2006-2007 game, still looking forwards to the 2011 Skyrim though.

Two, Dungeons are very well done, and when I say that I mean VERY, but they get so annoying. The Ayleid ones at least, traps, and then there's those damn push blocks which I can never find until I go to uesp.com, or some other guide site.

Three, Quests are very well done, I just hate how nobody can do anything for themselves.

Four, The items in this game are very good also. I just wish there was more variety. EX: I get the imperial dragon armor set, sure it looks okay, but it isn't good for armor. Lets be honest, the glass armor is better and cooler looking, not to mention it can be enchanted with cooler

Okay so I'm a critic, what else can I do?

Wow...youre the first person ive seen to actually like the dungeons in this game. I saw some behind the scenes making of the game from my 5th anniversary edition of oblivion (keep in mind one person made all those dungeons) he was pretty much copy pasting the same environments. There are alot of bad things about this game but theres also alot of good things that made it and its predecessor GOTY for multiple years.
