Things in New Vegas that make you fume

More Legion quests, better javelins, the ripper being exspensive to repair (it's just a chainsaw), ability to fast travel to specific parts of the Strip.

Vault 34 in general pisses me off, seriously I was in that thing for probably a good three hours, dying from rad poisoning who knows how many times before I finally gave up and looked up a walk through on youtube.

Well, on my first playthrough, it was the lack of option to become a ranger. It did make sense for Vegas though. Rangers weren't as ragtag as they were in Fallout 2. Still, it would have been great to feel legit while wearing that armor.

That's a good call, I felt much the same. Having had it repeatedly drilled into me that Rangers were the baddest of the bad-ass, I was kinda expecting to be able to become an honorourary Ranger at least, have a little ceremony and be presented with some armour etc. for extraordinary services rendered, like with the BoS. Was a bit bummed out when the chance never arose, especially as it meant the only way to get the armour was by murdering a comrade, which rather went against my RP first time round.

Lack of Legion quests, I mean if your gunna put a cool faction into the game, atleast let us play them out. It always seems the developers want you to lean towards the good side.

I have a couple, too: Merchants whose inventory just depletes and never renews, both the standard and the traveling ones.
And... Wasn't Caravan supposed to be very popular among travelers of the Mojave routes? I was mildly disappointed
discovering that the caravan players are few and mostly limited in number of games they would play

*SIGH*

Explosives been truly awful

Still on first playthrough, life seems to get in the way of the full-time devotion I so crave. Some things totally grind my gears already though:

1. Yes, beaten to death already, but invisible walls completely kill any sense of enjoyment or immersion. Seriously designers, if you don't want us to go that way put a f!%#@ing rock wall there!!! How lame is to walk forever around this cliff to finally find an opening, and oh...it only looks like an opening. Lame!

2. Playing on a PS3, it's starting to get really old having the system crash define how long I play for. It happens every single time I play. And these aren't any kinda marathons, I'm talking within 2-3 hours, crash to 'desktop'.

3. Knew that I was going to side with the NCR on round one, but wanted to do a lot of exploring and side quests first to get a feel for the mojave. During the BoS section, had a huge mental debate on who I thought should be the head, and I chose to usurp the current one for...the other guy (forget name). Supremely pissed that there was no peaceful way to resolve the BoS/NCR conflict with the new elder while continuing the MQ. Made too many friends with both sides, really felt bad blowing up the bunker.

4. Way too much XP points awarded everywhere. Capped at 30 before seeing 2/3 of the map. Should feel like a supreme achievement to make it to the level cap. Yes I've DL'd dead money, not had time to play it yet. 5 more levels won't change how quick I got there.

Gotta agree, the lack of house and legion side quest kinda bummed me out.

My first playthrough went with NCR and I had a great time working in Mccarren, Forelorn Hope, Camp Golf, etc. So many bases with so many quests outside the main quest line. Felt like I was really part of the NCR.

Second playthrough was self-aligned. And pretty much every quest was "go meet faction A-Z, decide whether they deserve to live." A little less robust, sure, but kinda made sense for someone establishing their own empire.

Then I went with a house aligned toon. And nothing. I still ended up helping the NCR a bunch, but that was mostly for "lesser of two evils" reasons, and, well... for XP. Other than the main quest line, there wasn't a single unique quest that felt housey. Well, I guess there were less options in the BoS quest this time ... but I don't count that. Removing one option from an existing quest doesnt count as "new" content.

Currently playing a legion character, and it's even worse. I'be decided to basically murder (and eat) everyone I see. I'm hoping the XP gained through that will offset the loss from not having any quests.

Adding to that: the lack of a legion or house friendly companion is annoying. We have companions that are:
NCR - Boone
BoS - Veronica
Ghouls - Raul
Mutants - Lily
The Kings - Rex
Caravaners - Cass
Followers - Arcade
The freaking Enclave has two - ED-E & Arcade

That's right, the enclave, who only exist in NV as a whisper are better represented than any other faction. And the Elvis impersonators get more love than 2 of the 3 main factions. House even had an obvious answer: Victor. Concept: if you side with house, one of the securitrons is faulty and can't get the Mk II upgrade. Rather than just trash it, House puts Victor in that shell and gives him to you. If victor dies (HC) house isn't willing to part with an upgraded bot, so you're SoL. Would also add a bit more variety to the non-human options.

Damn I'm long winded today.

Elvis got auto-corrected to Evid. And apparently there's no edit feature (maybe it's a mobile version thing)

Also, lack of caravan players. EVERY traveling merchant caravan should have at least 1 person who plays.

Every. Single. One.

Doesn't even need to be big money. Make it the guards (buying from merchants, then winning it all back kinda feels like cheating ;)) give em each 150 caps or so, and let us play. Fleecing ambassador Crock and NoBark every few days gets boring.

True, as far as allegiance or ideals go ... But they still represent a subset of Post Apocalyptia. ED-E is an eyebot. Even though the little guy (guy?) isn't actively chasing Enclave goals, when I see an eyebot, I think of Enclave.

Likewise Raul and Lily. They aren't trying to save the world for ghoul/mutant kind everywhere. But traveling with them is still a nice reminder of what's out there in the wastes. Raul complains about his age and creaking knees. Lily is, well, crazy. I want a companion who wears a dress and football pads, calls people "Dissolute" as he kills them, and pronounces Caesar as "kaiser" because that makes me giggle.

Edit: more long winded'ness

A Legion companion would help to dissolve the whole "Legion is super evil" mindset a lot of people have. Sure, they're not the nicest fellows around. They're methods are beyond extreme. But they do have a noble goal in mind. And of course, a legion companion would need a personal companion quest. One that examines "does the ends justify the means." Let the player see Caeser's endgame goals, and let the player decide if such brutal methods are forgivable if a paradise awaits on the other end.

1) Levelling way too fast.

2) Weapon disappearing with the "hands above your head" glitch.

Disagree with "leveling too fast"

You should not have to explore every nook and cranny of every inch of this monstrous map. Especially (as previously mentioned) because non-NCR players have drastically fewer quests available.

Recently beat the game on a character who hit 20 (yes twenty) in the Legates Camp. Was only 18 when I started the last bit. And that was doing the wholemain quest line, and all side-quests directly accessed through the main line (ie, Come Fly With Me, and My Kinda of Town). Sure that leaves a lot of the map left to explore, but it also leaves 15 level to go, with drastically increasing XP required per level.

Oh me, my turn, my turn!!

- Repair Costs are ridiculously high
- Explosives svck so bad they might as well be Implosives
- Survival Skill was a major let down (ingredient costs, can't craft or modify armors or weapons with hides and other stuff, etc)
- New Vegas housing selection blows so hard that there are better cribs that aren't "official" housing
- Can only send companions to the Lucky 38 - really? What's so wrong with thriving settlement like Novac?
- Seriously, the Lucky 38? The Presidential suite is: 1) too big, 2) too empty, 3) too buggy, 4) not customizable
- Never a campfire around when you need it, and definitely not near a good fast travel point near preferred storage. New Vegas would have greatly benefitted from having some working ovens in places that have electricity, or at least throwing a Dead Money hot plate into the Player Housing units.
- The Old Mormon Fort... I don't know what it is, but most of my game crashes happen walking outside the Fort. I think maybe it's those kids chasing that rat around, but I get massive frame rate drops and the game freezes more than half the time I go through there.
- Crappy Fast Travel points inside New Vegas. Why would we want to go to the gates? The gates are crappy landmarks. Know where I want Fast Travel points? Outside of BUILDINGS. Outside of LANDMARKS. Outside of the King's School or the Atomic Wrangler, outside of the Lucky 38, outside of the Monorail.
- Caravan is too easy to win, and the best thing that could be done is making the opponents use Kings, Jacks, and Jokers against the player.
- Really, there isn't a Securitron or Mr. Gutsy option for a Robot companion? :(
- As cool as Rex is, his Companion Skill svcks and he's constantly in the way.
- ED-E, who floats (but not really), could at LEAST be immune to falling damage.
- Most Companion Skills are pretty bad, or at least come nowhere close to the utility of Boone's Spotter, ED-E's Enhanced Sensors, or Veronica's whatever her Walking Toolbench skill is called. Plus, Veronica gets some good sidequest upgrades AND a possible Dead Money upgrade.
- No Legion companion.
- Cannot modify Melee weapons.
- Cannot modify Unique/Named weapons.
- Non-Classic Pack DLC weapons still not modifiable.

And on a slightly more positive note, my WISH list.

- Survival Skill expansion. I'm talking about being able to use those tanned gecko hides and coyote pelts to make or modify armors and other garments. Would be very easy to do some of it through the Modification mechanic.
- Paint Gun expansion. Huh, what? I'm talking about being able to use paint guns to PAINT things. Imagine if every Paint Gun you picked up had some leftover paint in it and you could change the color of your armor or helmet, etc. Would be very easy to do through the Modification mechanic.
- Longterm money sinks. After Fallout 3, devs should know that in the late game we're rolling in caps with nothing worthwhile to spend them on. It would be nice to be able to patron a settlement or throw money into supporting businesses, caravans, factions (NCR could use some armor, right?), or - my dream situation - starting some settlements. Furnish a "home base" for companions to bumble around, grow the crops you want for Survival skill stuff, hire some guards, build some fences.
- The game could really use two more companions. Definitely a Legion companion, maybe another dastardly jerk from the NCR Correctional Facility, or a Great Kahn.

@hooligantuan: A+ !!

Lack of a proper home base, with the following

Workbench and reloading bench INSIDE
Campfire (or hotplate) INSIDE
Ability to send companions there.
Owned bed.
Clean water.
A single loading screen post-fast-travel.
At least 2-3 storage bins.

If you don't wanna give us that from the start, let us build it up later. Make each item cost ~10k caps or more, to help spend the crazy amounts we have. Need something to blow these 37 gold bars on.
