Things in New Vegas that make you fume

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:50 pm

Before I start off the topic. This is NOT a thread to go 'I HATED THIS GAME' or to complain about the bugs or whatever. This is more about 'Things that happen' in the game world. If you do post anything like 'THIS GAME svckS' or 'NO EXPLORING' I'll treat it as trolling and ignore it.

As for me. I HATE those damn slot machines. Nothing makes me angrier than 7-7- Then the last 7 didnt get marked in the position by a half a tick. Those slot machines are the trolls of New Vegas e_e

I personally hate the Serria Madre Vending Machines, those things are just too far fetched for me to take seriously; a casino had such godlike technology, and used to as a commercial snack machine essentially.

-It was released with way too many bugs!
-You can't pick themes for your house, not a big deal at all, it was just nice in FO3
-Fast travel, I choose not to anyways, but just that it's there tempts me sometimes...
-No XP reward for playing on high difficulty...

Invisible walls. Seriously, let me walk over the gentle slope. I don't want to walk 10 miles around the hill.
Vault 34. Has a bunch of enemies that you can't reach and kill, so they're always on your compass. + the radiation.
Lack of Legion quests.

The fact that it's so easy to blow up the bos they crap them selves so much there hermits but get so easily destroyed by a guy they have - knew for 5 mins and when you start the self destruction you would think they would have some sort of fail safe or at least RUN OUT THE VAULT!!!.

That dynamite is so ridiculously underpowered.
Seriously, Powder Gangers should be really deadly with their dynamite.
I hate it when I have 5 sticks thrown at me and I can survive, or how I have to throw 3 sticks at a coyote to kill it.
(For this the amount of dynamite would have to be decreased though.)

Throwing weapons' animation is too long to use in intense battle, so as dynamite ignition animation.

Slots are for chumps :P

Disarming traps can make me fume. Not because it's difficult or I get caught by them but more the fact that they've actually made tripwire more difficult to disarm. I can't just target the tripwire anymore, I have to actually find one of the two points that the wire is connected to (which is often difficult because it can be difficult to get to them if they're behind doors) and more often than not I accidentally trip it when I'm trying to disarm them.

Veronica is a taco and not a hot dog :(

I see how it ads to her character though, and I find it great that Obsidian made characters that were ''normal'' and gay (Gannon is cool too).
But still, she's not a hot dog :c

Lack of Legion quests.

Lack of a Legion companion.

Lack of an evil companion. Dean Domino sort of made up for this, but you cant get him into the main game unfortunately.

Lack of polishing makes me fume.
Also cazadores and the fact that there was no Dart Gun.

I thought that is a good reason to "roleplay" a female character?

EDIT: I got a better one: you can have taco with sausage

I didn't like the invisible walls. I mean sure I learned to cope with them and I no longer care about them but hot damn they should have reduced the number of them. I mean sure some of them are essential to block out some areas but like simple hills that would be perfect for sniping were blocked off when they shouldn't have been

This is where Legion companions should have come in (not necessarily "evil" but they would have leaned more to the "dark" side of the morally gray spectrum).

I also hate invisible walls, they serve basically no purpose in my mind except to frustrate some people (like myself).

I was hoping Dean would wind up in nv, since if you don t kill him the slides say he might go there. The strip would love to have dean back.

Before I start this post....I do not hate nv I rate it a 7.0 which is well above average. (I m hard game grader too)

#1 Has got to be freezing. I don t know what its like on PC, but on ps3 and 360 it is pretty bad. It freezes a considerable amount more than fo3.

I don t know who s fault it is. I blame Bethesda for tech, but im not sure if Obsidian could have done more to stop this or not.

#2 CL Most sain people will see CL as bad an enemy to progress. I have a cl charecter he loves them. Most people will think they r evil/bad

They do not match their lore during in game combat. Some said it s the engine. If the writers and devs would have made a 4-5 man squad act like RL and have an archer with flaming arrows with them, and high dt sheilds they would have been harder on this engine. Also if they closed ranks while in danger and shielded each other it would force u to go to them so their melee advantage would be of use to them. Throw in a few good highly repired firearms too.

The game is so heavily weighted for people doing an NCR playthrough. Half the quests involve assisting the NCR in some way or other. The one time I played Legion, I wound up going into the final battle at about Level 14 because there was nothing else to do.

The Legion, and House for that matter, need more corresponding quests for them. And I agree, the game needed a Legion-friendly companion.

Vault 34 Auto-Doc Mark III. I hate coming across it and not being able to get the parts from it and later, having to come back and get them for the quest to help Caesar :swear:

Bethesda didn't make this game, Obsidian made it so you can't blame them for not putting in themes, Altough the rest i agree with, Look at his post, hes talking about in-game problems like, he said that he hated the Slot machines

I had set my expectations too high for The Strip... MAN was I disappointed. Freeside, however, really had that "slum" feeling.
