Things that are essential to your character!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:08 pm

Do you have any Item, weapon, amulet that is important to your character?
Well for Veronica Vultori, her Dark Shocking Bow is always essential with her Dwarven or Repulsive Dark Arrows.
She also carries her mother Amulet wich is an Enchatment Amulet that give you 15 points of Marksman.
A Dagger is enssential too especialy a deadric dagger enchatment called Ancient Vultori Fire-Dagger and makes 30 point fire damege to the enemy.
Unfortunatly my fellow horse Shadowmere died due to a very strong attack of Dremora, I really miss my old buddy Shadowmere :(

Well that's my important Things!
And yours?

Buffy's important things?

- Her bow, Slayer.
- Azura's Star.
- A pair of detect life rings that combine to a very impressive range.
- A collection of rings enchanted with utility effects: water breathe, water walk, night eye.
- Loads of shoes and pretty outfits; Her wardrobe is entirely too big for her to be bothered trying to enchant any of it except rings.

- Although she would never consider Superian a 'thing', the precious black mare is no doubt more important to Buffy than the items listed above. Oh, and Superian's saddle bags really come in handy for lugging around all of Buffy's outfits.

Freya - Her trusty Dwarven Shortsword, usually doused in poison, plus her Arena Light Armor Raiment.
Rosalind - Books. Can never have too many books.
Raven - Nothing. He hates material possessions. Sometimes he tries to get rid of literally everything in his inventory, but The Man keeps stopping him and telling him to put some clothes on.

For all my character a hammer or hammers in inventory. Even if the character doesn't use armor, he or she usually has a need to repair weapons.

Though as soon as reasonable I make a fortify armorer spell to fortify above 100 so I only need one hammer.

Aside from that, it kind of depends on the character. For example, my Mage character would always carry around her mage's staff of paralysis.

And I'm assuming you mean essential to carry around. If you are including stuff in my characters home, then Alchemy Equipment is essential for pretty much every character.

Lothran has some things he value pretty high.

* a dagger with a custom enchantment, has it on him at all times
* two rings and an amulet that renders him nearly invisible
* his house in Bruma
* a couple of other rings with precious enchantments
* his newly found friend, Buffy :)

Rhiannon has a number of things that she will never step outside of her new home Rosethorn without:

  • Her Mage Staff with soul trap enchantment.
  • Azura's Star
  • Her spare set of feather enchanted jewelry and armor.
  • Her trusty steed Wildfire*

Spoiler
*It was nice of Maborel to loan her his Paint Horse, but not being very responsible, she lost this horse in an early fight with a bear. Rhiannon saved her septims and bought the least expensive horse she could find: a paint horse named Wildfire. As time went on and she had a good stash of septims, after purchasing her dream home, she had just enough money left to buy a faster black horse: Wildfire II. She lovingly put Wildfire out to pasture and took off on Wildfire II. The II wasn't as smart as Wildfire and would charge into every single battle. As we were going to more and more dangerous areas, and seeing tougher opponents, it wasn't long (say 30 minutes) until Wildfire II met his untimely end. So Rhiannon went back to the stable where Wildfire had been enjoying his retirement and asked him to be her companion for a while longer.

Soul gems, I have been using them a lot recently (Maybe Giving Azura's star to Martin wasn't the smartest idea)

The character I played the most, Limdraeil Goldendew, wore the hood of the druid a lot, and carried a ring of nighteye a lot too.

My main character, Bohwynn Arreaux, has a few necessities. His Elvish bow, with a supply of silver and non-silver arrows (typically 20 of each). He is an archer (and a good one) before anything. Another would be his Expert Alchemy apparati and a supply of poisons for his arrows. A silver weapon, either short sword or mace, for slashing/bashing undead baddies. He always carries a long sword, but it is not a necessity.

One of my mage characters carries a crystal ball she has had since arriving in Cyrodiil. When faced with difficult decisions, she sometimes gets advice from a strange otherworldly being who appears in the crystal.

This is awesome.

Helena always carries whatever book she happens to be reading, and her Amulet. She's had the amulet ever since she can remember, and it serves as a means of remembering her parents.

I agree, and you are not alone. Buffy travels with the spirit of an old etherial paladin in her head. Angel walks with her wise old Mentor at her side; so did her older sister, Sarah. Teresa has Raven as her spirit guide. Lothran travels with wise mirocu.

For my paladin, it'd be the Crusader Sword and his horse, Whitestrake.

My mage won't travel without a hood -- he thinks he's ugly and hates public attention, which he's had to fight off since becoming arch-mage.

Good ole' Vilhen would never leave home without his pestle & mortar, for they have served him so well during his, so far, brief adventuring days.

The three above are my only characters with a personal attachment to any items; the countless others I've created over time are either not developed enough or are not so sentimental towards an object.

My bow, Searing Soul
Azura's Star
My Mage's Staff of Paralysis
Whatever books I find, I do not read until I am comfortable in front of the fire, whether it be a camp or home.

Elberond has a few essentials:

An enchanted bow called the Wrath of Arkay - Fire Damage 30 points + Weakness to Fire 100% for 5 seconds. He uses this in his private war against necromancers and conjurers.

An enchanted shortsword called Stormwrath - Shock Damage 30 points + Weakness To Shock 100% for 5 seconds. He uses this only when an enemy gets too close for a bow to be very effective (which is a very rare occasion).

He uses Azura's Star to keep his enchanted weapons charged.

A green hood enchanted with Detect Life. He realized the need for this after an unpleasant encounter at Dive Rock.

A suit of special armor with a Chameleon enchantment that only activates when he's sneaking.

A master alchemy set for brewing poisons and potions.

While he doesn't consider her a 'thing' Elberond would be lost without Ashmane (his magical summoned steed). Ashmane is faster than the famed Blacks of Cheydinhal, but only during the day. At night, she has the speed of a Chestnut. Oh, and she can walk/run on water.

He uses an Astral Storage spell (that he learned from Calindil) to hold things.

For Teresa, it is the friendship of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion514.jpg, made possible through my Witchcraft mod.

For Saya, it would be her trusty skeleton http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion224.jpg.

For http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion524.jpg, it would be her Darklight Armor (Silverlight Armor with a black and red retexture), and her enchanted Madness Axe.

Decimus probably has many things but as an assassin and mercenary...

- His sword, the Snowe Family Blade.
- A backup ebony dagger
- Clothing...no self respecting assassin runs around in his underwear
- And most importantly, his family gold amulet, "Cipher"

His ash black horse, Draco, is probably his most prized and important item. It can run fast to catch up to fleeing targets, it provides company in those long rainy nights, staking out his target, and even a good companion for a slow easy trek across the countryside.

- Leather helm enchanted with Detect Life
- A stabbing/slashing/gouging implement of some sort
- As many skulls as he can carry for the skull pile in his manor at Anvil
- The thirst for vengeance... against everyone... everywhere. FOREVER!!! (especially the beggars)

My current Orc character Cutting Glass Red loves glass weapons and glass armor. He's a real slicer upper at dungeon parties.
My Nord character Arcturus has a thing for big blunt warhammers and spikey black maces. He also loves to wear green hoods aswell as the cloak like outfits in the Shivering Isles worn by cults.
My dark elf character Vardella loves collecting the skulls of her fallen enemies and rotting body parts in graves which she then tosses into the garden in her home The Vile Lair. She loves to read and has piles of books on every subject under the sun along with a vast collection of curios like crystal balls and amulets.
