Things that break your heart in FO3.

Yes you can... But you probably know what happens if you try to pet him...

Spoiler
It's like a whack A Deathclaw device, can I have it in bullet form? For people.

I used to have a mod that turned Dogmeat into a Deathclaw. I renamed him "Lorenzo", and he was controlled by an Enclave Headset. They become quite cuddly when Brainwashing and mind control come into play.

There's not much that can break the heart of a gamer looking to wander around post-apocalyptia with many guns and a targetting system that slows down gory sequences of death and destruction. I did have a slight twinge of regret when I blew a Scavenger's head off with a combat shotgun, by accident. Not sure what I was thinking, my sleep-deprived mind took the left mouse button for the tab kay or something. It was a Pulp Fiction moment. The gun just went off! My face did this --->

One minute she was standing in front of me smoking, and the next she was dead, missing a head. I felt bad. Wasn't heartbroken though, and as Im Not Texan said, I immediately felt better when my mind was occupied with all the loot on her body. ^_^

Here Here! Cheers my friend! Hate killing animals and wish the Animal Friend Perk was available in lower levels...I'm so much against killing animals during gameplay that I would never kill a Khajit or Argonian in Morrowind or Oblivion unless absolutely necessary.....And as I mentioned before, I dont take my beloved Dogmeat out with me any longer since I cant bear watching him getting shot at and beaten on.....he'll just have to get used to being a house doggie from now on.....

For me it's killing animals, I try to avoid them as much as possible until lvl 10.

Spoiler
Too bad I have to kill the dogs near the washington monument otherwise they'll just damage the BoS soldiers and slaves nearby

I read a post by another modder (old_andy) a while back and I thought the exact same thing as him - he said don't do the first part of the WSG if you have the Animal Friend Perk because killing the mole rats is like clubbing baby seals
I feel terrible when I forget about that. The poor little things come whuffling over to me, oh-so-trusting, and I go and clobber them around the head with a big stick!

It breaks my heart when I play 30 or more minutes and level up, only to have the xbox freeze up and lose all the game play. I take animal friend, but still need to kill some who threaten the traders. Too bad they don't leave the traders alone when you choose animal friend perk. I took someones advice and use the mauler from the Pitt to kill mirelurks. Works real well head on and playing very hard.

There is also this horrible radio SOS signal from a hidden family with a sick child. When you find the source of the signal, you find two skeletons - and the sick boy is nowhere to be found, so no one knows what happened to him. I got chills when I learned about that for the first time.

This.
Also, when I went to one of the behemoth locations (the one with the teddy bear) and accidentally picked a fight with it, it killed dogmeat!!! :cryvaultboy:
One day I will have the puppies perk, and then me and dogmeat's puppy will have fun again :coolvaultboy:

For me it was enslaving Bumble from Little Lamplight. I felt pretty bad about doing it because she was so nice and innocent, unlike the other brats in Little Lamplight. I will never enslave her again. :(

I wish we could enslave Princess and give her to the slavers.

By doing so this would award you +1001 good karma for making the slavers commit mass suicide.

Well I'm only about a third of the way into the game so far but two things stand out so far.....the "Little Moonbeam" scenario with Sydney is quite poignant

I can go through that scenario over and over and over again. :hubbahubba:

The inevitability of the game freezing and corrupt save-game files.

That really screwed it up for me. I kind of stopped playing after I figured out thats what was happening to my beloved level 28 character. Made me feel depressed almost....

It's been said already. The one thing that truly touched me in this game, was the Mr. Handy reading the poem There Will Come Soft Rains to the deceased child. It was truly a moment where I just stopped, and made me appreciate a lot of things. Truly a touching moment.

There's no true good karma path for The Pitt. There are some things you can do along the way for bad karma, but you can completely avoid bad karma no matter which path you take. As such, Marie's parents usually live and Werhner usually dies in my games.
