Things that we want bethesda to check into [trailer flaws]

How could they miss that? Is it really rotating the wrong way?

It's not that it rotates the wrong way, it's that the blades should be pushing, instead of pulling. The way it is right now, it's impossible for the sails to catch wind.

I have no idea how they managed to miss that. Guess whoever animated the mill has never seen one in his life, or he doesn't know that the the blades aren't just for show and must actually catch wind :D

The only thing I'm slightly let down about are the rapids, but those don't bother me much at all

Why do most people here hate the waterfall? It looks gorgeous in my opinion. What is it you don't like? :o

It looks flat, plastic, horrible texture, no animation, no reflection, no transparency. Same repeating movement all the time it seems (can't be 100% sure though since it's only a few sec, but it certainly looks like it).
The supposed "foam" from the water looks more like a constant repeating cloud mesh that might as well come from a machine.

In short: I think it looks like a white, flat rolling rug, instead of a rapid.

RDR, another open world console game, made rapids look like this, which I think is a lot better (yet still not perfect):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5QTEs4IlEg&feature=player_detailpage#t=30s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx5qbtE7LfM

That more looks like... you know, it's real actual water. Instead of a white, flat rolling rug.

OR you dont know anything about windmills.
Despite popular belief, windmills can rotate either direction, dependant on engineering.
Scroll to the bottom of the first link.

And as far as the water, or snow accumulation.
We should wait for another video with it in it before we start complaining.

And Ive shot a bow in that manner, and I'm pretty sure my hand is still intact.
Without Mage healing.

Re-read my first post. I said that the windmill IN THE TRAILER is rotating in the wrong direction. I wasn't wrong about that. In order for that windmill to rotate the other way, its sails should have the solid edges on the other side. :toughninja:

I doesn't matter which way the fans are attached, or which way it rotates. Its really just dependent on the wind, and how they made the windmill.
It would get the job done either way.
So its not turning wrong.
If the wind was blowing from the left side of the screen, to the right.
It would be correct. Fan Placement, and Rotation.

If you don't get it. Reread this post again. Slowly.

If people always were satisfied, we'd still be living in the middle-ages. It was thanks to people not being satisfied that the industrial revolution began and therefore our current civilization, to finally end in the glorious establishment of Bethesda Softworks! :intergalactic:

right before the dragon born does his shout you get a good look at his bicep and his bicep muscle is connected to the wrong region of his arm.. it is suppose to be connected to the front of the deltoid but in the picture it looks as if his bicep is connected under his arm towards his armpit which is why his arm looks all bad.. also the running water svcks everything else was sixy

If this is the only problem you can find in the trailer....good work bethesda

I have compiled a list of everything mentioned so far (Regardless of if I agreed or not). Please edit the OP and put them up there so we don't have 1000 posts saying the same thing. Credit given is to first person to mention it.

Textures on the player look a bit choppy (armor and strap) - senju
Textures or rapids could use some work - senju
Windmill is backwards - Estonian
No Reflections - Dragonbone
Enemy reacting to hit before it occured - Dragonborn1
Player knocks arrow in way that might injure self - dr_booker
Strange lighting - hlvr
lack of canvas on windmill - Miltiades (Mr. Milt the Moderator)
Muscle connected to wrong spot on arm - dirishman9
Clipping on axe (or hammer?) - vtastek
CHALLENGE: On windmill rotation - xInsanity19
Clipping on wrist when mage staff is used - Badprenup

Everyone keeps going on about the water, good or bad, but there's one thing that seems to not be mentioned.

No reflections. Anywhere. Why are there no reflections?

Probably 'cus it was on 360. Reflections were an option on PC for Oblivion, so they will undoubtedly be in for Skyrim.

The game footage could easily be months old and I don't think you should consider buying the game if you're going to find flaws in a 2-3minutes video.

Here's what REAL rapids look like. Bethesda's "texture scrolling" method isn't too bad.

i said this at the beginning.
could be from a long time ago they have obviously put alot of time into it so far. i would say about 3-4 months time. it takes a while to do these scenes, and especially edit them for use. they probably chose the best looking ones.
actually i know they did.
notice how they only covered a few environment types? we didn't get a good look at the coast or the tundra.
they obviously are still far from a final product.

i mean look at crysis2
they had a leaked build come out just a few weeks ago. and it looked awesome and was mostly finished but they were apparently still working on the game!
so that gives you a rough look at a game developers time frame, and we have 8-9 months left.

but this post still has its use. there may be things in the trailer that the devs could miss. the things that have been posted are just the obvious ones. so lets look a little harder and do our part to make sure we all get the best possible experience.

You know, rapids are...rapids. So water looks foamy, and not crystal clear. Stop playing video games and get out once in a while.

I love the looks of the water in RDR but there is way more going on in Skyrim then there was in RDR. Not saying i didn't love RDR's Single Player either.

And it all comes back to graphics or gameplay. I'm glad they decided to focus on the gameplay and animations more then the looks of the water. I would love to see water look like that video link you shared of RDR but if it doesn't it will not ruin the game at all for me. I realize both games run on different engines and maybe the new engine for Skyrim can't create water that realistic but it can do other things RDR can't.

If it did look that good I would probably watch it for like 15 seconds the first time i came across it and then never again care moving on with the game and more interesting features. Just My Opinion on it.

I posted this in another thread, but seemingly people have another opinion on this:

Hand Screenshots: http://i.imgur.com/mcWKG.jpg http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8549/ss20110301174709.png
You can't bend the first finger joint (distal interphalangeal joint) further than the second (proximal interphalangeal joint) - well some people can, but it's not functional or natural in any way.

Also, the windmill needs to be fixed. Anything else is a bonus.

Hi, I'm making this post after watching the trailer for the ∞th time

i noticed some of the textures were choppy on the Dovahkiin model [the armor and the strap] and also in a few other spots [the water rapids were kinda flat compared to some of the other water]

and other people have pointed out other things as well.
not that its a big deal, not that you don't ALREADY know, and i don't mean to sound critical.
i just want to have one thread for people to bring their issues, and if someone points out something you have not noticed [with your 100man staff lol] then it will indeed help you right?

oh and question. the Dovahkiin wallpaper on the website, is that the high-poly model or is that just photo-shopped for the wallpaper?

Would you guys stop making threads saying the same stuff the trailer is fine the water rapids are fine they were white rapids hence they were fast moving and dovahkiin was great.
