Pretty much anything the guy who sits next to me in my computer graphics class says.
He asked me how to do something extremely simple (how to make one of the pre=set shapes in 3DsMax, I think it was a pyramid), and I respond with "It's the same way we've always done it."
"I don't know how to do that."
The guy who sits to my right cuts in with " You know, (name withheld to protect the oblivious), after nearly six months of working with these programs, you should really know how to do this."

After that little exchange, I found the largest Picard Facepalm I could, and left it on one of my monitors for the rest of the class.

Edit: Well, it wasn't a "Did I really just do that" moment, but you get the idea. More of a "Did he really just say that?"

On medieval 2 total war I was getting one of my generals to a city that was currently being auto-governed because the former leader passed away (having your city be governed by the CPU is NOT pretty) so after a long and dangerous journey my general is one turn away from going in the city when suddenly he turns into a rebel, he and a bunch of units of fuedal knights and spearmen turn hostile right in front of the city gates. Now heres is where it gets good, they actually attack my city and overrun the defences, capturing one of my still developing settlements and turning it into a rebel stronghold.

I dont know what made the general and his army decide to turn into rebels because his loyalty stat was moderatly high and he wasnt left idle for too long so i dont know.... but I would say double facepalm for that situation, one for the armies sudden change of heart and another for me letting them ttake over my city... :(

Edit: Oh yeah, and if you have not played a total war game then this whole story probably makes no sense, but if you havent played a TW game I highly recommend it for the RTS really devoted fan in the room, even if you are not big on strategy the huge battles you can have are still fun....now if you'll excuse me I have money to collect from Creative Assembly for advertising their games. ;)

This girl I work with. Everything she says or does just makes me want to facepalm (and [censored]-slap her).

My English class comes to mind. When stupid rhetorical questions like "Why do we need this class if we already know English?" come out, I see the tortured look on my teacher's face. It's the end of the day. She's tried. Her work and her baby allow her four hours of sleep at best. And she wants to STRANGLE this guy whenever he opens his mouth. Can't say I blame her.

When I sent a text message to a friend calling a woman I recently met a psycho, then realising I had sent it to her by mistake. I went beyond facepalm into the foetal position.

When my friends and I plan a huge system link event, go to someone's house, get it all set up, only to realize one of us forgot X cable.
Buying Two Worlds and Fable II day one.... Facepalms were had.
Oh, and actually going to see Meet The Spartans in theatre. Don't even ask why we thought it was a good idea.

At the end of every day at work I have to do a little daily bookkeeping. I have to add three columns of Totals [Showroom | Shop | Supplies] then Today's Total [Showroom+Shop+Supplies], forward the month's total [Month FWD] then find the daily average [Month FWD / today's date == AVG].

One day I wrote down in the book the correct numbers but on the wrong column by accident. Our public accountant asked us if we were going to make less than payroll why don't we just close our doors? I was like "What!". Writing numbers in the wrong spot messed everything up on paper for the whole month because of an mistake number on the Month FWD.

I shut my head in a cupboard door once.

Also remember fighting the urge to facepalm back in A Level English at sixth form - a girl said she didn't read the set books because she "didn't like reading". Our class only had about 7 people in it, and about 5 agreed with her. :swear: :flame:

Its embarrasing to think about how many times I've done that.

there is a kid in my English class, who keeps correcting the teacher. Everytime he tries to correct her, you can tell he gets pissed ( because its an everyday thing)

About a week or so ago I got into this huge debate (not a argument) about how the races of Skyrim could be differentiated with a fellow forum goer only to realize I based my entire theory on attributes being in the game, whereas his point and the purpose of the thread was assuming they were not.

The guys building our house 2 years ago were digging (with a digger) and went straight through the phone line
The whole of Tasmania didn't have Internet for a while, it also took out certain parts of NSW, Victoria and Queensland

That's pretty epic, something they can tell their kids and grandchildren about. :)

My moment for facepalming was when this was mentioned to me: http://www.popjolly.com/fox-news-doesnt-know-where-egypt-is-1687

(Fox News putting Egypt in the wrong spot on the map.)
