Things You Appreciate From the Crysis series

Post » Sun Jun 14, 2009 8:25 am

I was just getting done going through another campaign run in the original Crysis. While i was playing i kind of went into nastalgia mode and started taking the time to really notice the small things that made Crysis such a fun experience for me. So i figured why not create a thread to see what other people appreciate the most out of the Crysis series so far.

I'l start by saying that the thing i appreciate the most from Crysis is probably the level when you're in the Mountain/Machine and you see the crystals all over the place and how effectively the lightning and architecture made me really feel like i was in an alien thing and how over my head their technology is.

Hi there, and yes i have to agree, that level is totally awsome, for me it was the second large chamber, where you can also get more ammo and stuff that they had collected, then when you take a look around as you say, at the detailing, the rotating map of the structure. when you then go over and look through the glass and see. no wait, hear morso, that big ass creature walking up the other side of that wall. but damm what a rush I got from the transition tubes that get you from A to B in there, how hard must that have been to get right, but the team did it with Attitude. the whole flexability of the suit and the freedom to roam each level in anyway you wanted to tackle things, thats when I truly gave lots more time to games, --Maximum Game On--

I personally liked the open sandbox areas, there are small islands that almost nobody notices and detail on the textures is amazing, there are small propane tanks next to burners in huts, the chickens die and fall to the ground realistically, the Koreans interact with each other, they yawn, they sleep, they put away their weapon if they sense they are not in danger, they even piss, tree branches move when they are shot or when an object comes passed them same with the small plants with the big leafs you can beat an enemy to death with anything Abiotic you pick up. Crytek put alot of work into crysis and warhead and i'm looking forward to seeing what they an do with crysis 2.

i'm just hoping it will run smoothly maxed out on one of TODAYS high end videocards (HD5870, GTX480)

I absolutely love the multiplayer in Crysis. It is the best multiplayer I have played. There are really no criticisms to be said about it besides a few glitches and what not.

Crysis, In the Quarry, from up top, using the gause rifle with a sniper scope over long range, way down by the cabins, was a lot o fun watching them fly across the floor, and in Warfare using the armourd vehicle to start rite at the top of a tree, and watch how you can shoot the whole way down the trunk, chewing it away like damn matchwood, each li'l bit detailed, by comparison to the first that was a real change, I think we are going to be well suprised, if crytek have continued with detailing on that scale

In Crysis, Strange thing was some intermitent gliche I had, i found this in the change over to second level as I left the beach, on the top of the outlook was a mounted machine gun, I used this to take out one or two koreans that followed me up, When I released, I found myself in some limbo wierd situation where I was like miles above the Island in sky dive, I was directly above the gun, it almost looked like a damm processor I was so high, it took like, 10 to twelve mins before I could see the Island in any detail, but at that speed, only a few more seconds to witness my instant death, this happened a few times and was well funny, so much so that I got the camera out and took shots of it. lmao

The small things that really made enjoy the game were the animations and the physics all over the world. they lighting on the jungle and the overall graphics were absolutely amazing. most people say they storyline is bad but i actually thought it was pretty original and very fun.but most of all i enjoyed the level where you are inside the huge mountain like you described. very nice level

would just like to add, my gameplay in crysis was even more enjoyable, and even more photo realistic, after the great work from www.crymod.com, where i got the --Natural mod-- this was a fantstic self install mod, that greatly increased the overall lighting potential, and reality factor, --A big Thanks to those people--

I liked the all the levels, but the first two were especially great. Assault was also good coupled with Onslaught. I think I will play through Crysis again, it truely is a great game.

I loved the first level in Crysis. I killed two - four weeks playing the demo. All I did was walk or swim around looking at the detail. I loved it. ^^
