Things You're NOT Ashamed Of

Post » Thu Sep 16, 2010 3:15 am

* I'm 19 years old and I still play Pokemon.
* I'm nearly 20 and still play videogames in general and listen mostly to VGM.
* That I have Asperger's.
* I have an IQ only a few points away from the Mensa cutoff.
* I know a lot about zoology and history.

My ability to look at/talk about virtually anything calmly and logically, and my open-mindedness. I've encountered a wide variety of people and preferences and behaviors without ever being "bothered" by it. I wave at people in the furthest corners of the internet like they were my neighbors. Or would, if I weren't too anti-social to wave at anyone ever. You get the idea. The downside is that I'm constantly noticing prejudice and succumbing to emotional opinion in others, which gets rather depressing.

Also, the fact that I finished a novel, 500-something pages. It was terrible and nobody will ever see it, but at least I wasn't trapped in the limbo of "I'm writing a novel!" while people smile and nod and know it will never happen.

Anywho, I'm not ashamed of basically anything. Gotta be proud of who and what you are.

Heey me to, i totally forgot i am supposed to be a ashamed about that. (the boy scout thing)
BTW if you want to wear a suit and a fedora why don't you just do that, lol.

I'm not ashamed of it, but lots of people seem to hate them for whatever reason so I guess some people are embarrassed to admit it.

Believe me, I would. But that's one of my "ashamed department's". I'm a broke teen :spotted owl: I definitely don't have the money for a nice suit and fedora at the moment.

Well things i'm not ashamed of that most people would be, theres plenty to find there, but things i'm literally proud of.. hard to find, lets see...

I'm really weird and highly different from everyone else.
I am extremely good at troubleshooting and fixing computers. (expert) without any real education (just messing around with computers for a very long time)

  • I'm in much better health than mere mortals most people and haven't touched any alcohol, drug, etc for about 10 years at age 26
  • I try to be a pleasant and helpful presence in online communities
  • I created a multiplayer RPG mod that quite a few people enjoyed for years, including at least one married couple who first met there
  • I've systematically improved myself (in body and will) over several years in relative isolation (one of the last, but hardest challenges looms: interpersonal skills & confidence)

You sound exactly like a good friend of mine.

I have not committed infanticide, and if you knew my son, you would understand why this is an accomplishment.

Hilariously enough my friends and family sense arrogance in me. I'm just trying to do something great though :meh: ..I may be wrong (not uncommon) but it feels like I can't control it.

I exaggerate the hell out of my skill and worth in my head, that's true. I'm definitely not ashamed though :mohawk:

I'm proud that I can usually do with next to no effort what the majority of people in my school have to work extremely hard for. I'm also proud that I'm friends with a surprising amount of really good-looking girls, that I was voted the Homecoming King of my school's sophmore class this year, that I can maintain good grades while barely working for them, and that, whenever I play alone, I can do pretty well in COD.

I'm proud of my chivalry... something I find lacking in many men my age.
I'm proud of my awesome knowledge of a multitude of series.

That's about it. Although, I wouldn't say I'm ashamed of any of my other features; those two are simply the ones I feel the most pride over.

I'm pretty proud of the cups I won last year (1st = in Science, 1st in Maths and Japanese), and of the 4 excellences that I've achieved so far his year. I like the fact that I can be just a little stubborn, meaning that I'm not going to be easily swayed by others. My Top Gear collection is coming along quite nicely, and I'm quite pleased with my achievements in MarioKart (especially that I've come 1st on the Rainbow Road at some point :P ). I also quite like my eyes.

I have a small collection of antique items that I wear or show off often. I'll get looks as I walk by, but never 'bad' looks.

I have a great sense of style. Any excuse to wear a suit and I'm there.

I know a fairly large amount about cooking and the restaurant business. Enough to open my own, assuming I have the cash to start up.

At 21, I've had three threesomes and I've watched girls doing the horizontal monster mash on more than one occasion.

I'm a total lightweight. A cheap drunk. A lot of people are ashamed of this, I love being able to spend 20 bucks and get as drunk as a guy who spends 60.

haha nice ;) you got me beat by 2...but ummm.....anyways..... :P

I also forgot to mention I'm proud of my coin collection, I know it sounds lame for a 17 year old to participate in whats considered and "old man's hobby" but I LOVE coins and the rush of finding old or rare coins. I'm so proud of it that I even showed my collection to my gf the first time she came to my house, I took a gamble that she might think I'm a total dork and dump me. At first she thought it was hilarious, but then I showed her my mint condition Indian Head penny from 1889...[censored]es love Indian Head pennies...

Edit: Also I've been a Police Explorer for over 3 years and I expect to put another year in before I leave for the military.
