Things you want to customize about your Appearance?

Post » Fri Jul 09, 2010 8:06 am

What would you like to see, appearance-wise?

I'd like to be able to make a larger/overweight character. I'd feel like that Bad-Ass Drunk from Mortal Kombat. I also want obnoxious beards.

What do you guys think?
Discuss.

EDIT:

I want to be able to create a character like this:

Scars and tattoos similar to Brink, but also have the ability to add tattoos.

Oblivion was pretty good for customization, but I'd like a little more in Skyrim.

In all honesty though, I can't even imagine playing Oblivion now without Ren's Mystic Elf / beauty mod. As good a job as Bethesda might do with player models and customization options in Skyrim, I see the same thing happening.

It'd be awesome, if we had some tattoos like in Morrowind. But I think it'd be awesome to have a tattoo parlor in game, or be able to design your tattoos at the start.

I'm fairly certain that Bethesda is going to take a Bioware approach to character to creation which allows better looking NPCs at the expense of full out slider bars.

Some of the sliders were a little overwhelming anyways. But I feel like games like Mass Effect 2 were really lacking in creating a splitting image of yourself or someone else because you couldn't rotate eyes, or tilt the tip of your nose like you could in Oblivion.

As far as customization goes, I really want to see some decent textured hair this time around. Fallout 3 had quantity but it definitely was lacking in the quality department...The hair was too heavily illustrated it looked like it was taking a step back in the Morrowind direction.

I'm not big on scars, but depending on how they're implemented, I could use them. The same goes for tattoos. I'm assuming there will be modding support to add more tattoos to the game which i'm interested to see work. I can already see people implementing tattoos that look like ripped open flesh.

As long as they keep it like F:NV were those bars are still all present in the editor, I'll be happy.

As for what I'd like to be able to customize, I'd like to be able to change my body type. My weight, my height, my figure, etc.

Cholesterol levels.

Editors mostly concentrate on the face, which is logical. It would be fun to edit some other stuff though, like finger length and thickness (something you would actually see in first person, since you see your hands). Would be fun if they could make NPC's comment on some quirky characteristics. "I don't think I ever saw someone with eleven fingers before"

Body height, weight, muscularity, skin color, scars, tattoos, hairstyle, hair lenght, eye color, face shape...At least those. The more options and variety the better.

I'd like to change my weight. You never see an overweight Argonian these days.

You too? An Argonian like this is ready to face the cold: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/ActionDragon/Oblivion/Hides-His-Fear/81.jpg :)

Yeah, some better hair would definitely be the top of my list (well, besides keeping the sliders.....)

scars and tattoos somewhat like in fable, also the ability to dye/decorate your armor would be cool.

Not going to happen but I'd like..
A: to be just a floating skull and.
B: be able to have a tail on any human - mer just for the heck of it.

Other than those the usual, lots of hair, tats, eyes.. etc for faces.
Depending on the engine.. which I doubt will have full body options, these height, width, muscles.. etc.

This,

I want to be able to create anything from a lanky tall character to a short overweight one. I would also like to be able to customize the muscularity (ie from sinewy to buff, to even soft/fat).

I am tired of everyone looking exactly the same in games especially my fav rpg.

Cybernetic body parts, perhaps that resemble Morrowind dwemer armor. Also being able to have one/both soulless glowing eyes. I really hope there's several armor slots, and that you can have different pauldrons/gauntlets/greaves/boots. I think that's what made Morrowind great. Also a diverse amount of helmets that don't look like Oblivion's helmets that completely exposed the face. I like being able to have a full face helmet I can wear to enhance roleplay value when a storm or something like that is coming through. Also helmets similar to Morrowind's helmets. And custom tattoos would be really nice, though who knows how those will work this time around.

For example, having the option to wear mostly leather armor, with perhaps a pauldron, and a shinguard with big metal spikes on them. I really like chainmail/leather type armors with a few spikes added in here, and there.

Also heterochromia (Different colored eyes) . Also I doubt these things will be added, but highly customizable body types so there's like medium built, out of shape thin, athletic thin, toned, chubby, muscular /etc/. And also being able to adjust hand/foot size, and hand shape. Also without necessarily adjusting all out character scale of course having an optional height, and doubt this will all happen, though it would be nice for realism. Also I seriously doubt these options will be given but freckles, and hair that's more than just one color would be nice.

I'd be pretty happy with mass effect 2 style character creator. Face code included. I always have a nightmare trying to create a decent looking character, being able to just imput a number to give me a nice base is great.

Also I'd like to see a height slider.
