I think becoming over-cumbered will be a common issue.

if there's not something alike in the game anyway,

pretty much the first mod i'm gonna make is a fo4-version of my Cache Sacks mod

(sacks (or whatever containers) you can place where you want and take with you when you don't need them anymore

= a totally cheat-free way to handle overweight :-)

At the start I always am on the verge of being over-encumbered as I try to make caps quick, so I take anything remotely valuable, then by mid-game I generally never have to worry about encumbrance again, as I usually only have 2 or 3 guns - handgun, rifle, maybe a shotgun, a lightweight melee weapon and light armour. At that point I don't bother looting much aside from ammo and the very valuable weapons/armours as I was usually overflowing in caps, New Vegas was terrible for that, caps lost all meaning as I was so rich.

neither sure if you're 1) about my Cache Sacks nor 2) if i get right what you mean :-)

but IF you mean you don't believe in mods like CS, because infinite stuff makes the game easy and that's a BAD thing (like in TOO easy)...?

...then you got that wrong: no infinite stuff in this mod.

you'll have portable empty sacks. you can place one anywhere in the game world and put stuff into to pick up later.

and when you do so, you'll roll up the sack and take it with you.

it doesn't give you additional carrying capacity or anything, just the option to have a safe (= player owned and non-respawning) storage container whereever you need one to store overweight stuff. 100% anti-cheat is all that's about actually.

...if you think infinite carrying capacity makes the game easy and that's a GOOD thing though, then you're doubtlessly better off with the good old bag of holding :-)

It's a good thing people have been likening the crafting system to Minecraft because I'm gonna need a room just for loot chests lol.

I already hoarded in 3 and with the numerous ways to customize the world now its about to get ridiculously fun.

I usually pack a Silenced Pistol, a Silenced Sniper/Scoped Rifle, a Shotgun, a Melee weapon (usually a Knife or bladed weapon), a few explosives, a rapid fire gun (like a Silenced SMG) and one other weapon at my discretion. I usually use high-tier Light Armour (Gecko-Backed Reinforced Leather Armour in New Vegas) and carry Stimpaks, Radiation supplies and a handful of other stuff.

I can carry as little as 25 of my maximum encumbrance when leaving my residence and I take everything that might be useful, utilising skills for improvised ammo, explosives, field repairs and general wasteland survival.

And in response to the thread title, yeah, no sh*t. It's a Bethesda RPG, you're not playing it right if you don't take everything you can. You'll even learn how to launder stolen items in different games abusing shopkeepers, jury rigging or storage containers.

You horde as you might need it later to repair or craft stuff. Another tricks was to collect stuff then repair for higher value, might repair more instead of dropping stuff. Yes later you become more selective.

However you was better off bringing back guns in poor condition for later repairs of hard to repair weapons.

FO:NV jury rigger and various ways to convert items in old world blues made it relevant to collect even more items as they could be used. Yes after some time you learned that was useful.

For leather, ores and alchemy ingredients in Skyrim it was most of the same however here it was collect everything as it was too many ingredients to remember that was useful, farmed the most useful one anyway.

Chances FO4 will be more like Skyrim in that most items has uses.

I have that issue, but my modded player home automatically sorts out my stuff anyway (and into labelled boxes, mind you). It would be better if Bethesda had more spacious player homes and we wouldn't need to rely on mods to make the hoarding easier.
