At the NCR mission where I have to go check out the situation at the Great Khans. I go talk to everyone, get the "Oh my papa" quest and then go back to the hooverdam. The problem is that the only options I have is: The second in command is showing support to an NCR alliance"--->Leader is not showing any support" followed by her telling me that she does not have time for diplomacy and asks me to kill their leader. I then get two choices, either say yes, and my quest updates and tells me to kill him or I say no and she tells me to stop wasting her time and the quest just stops dead. No update, no nothing, quest is not failed or anything, and talking to her does nothing. Now, if I agree to kill the leader that's the only choice I have, I can't talk to anyone at Khans (Friendly with them) they just repeat what they said before, leader refuses to talk about not joining the legion and now I can't pick that option again.

Things I've done before I started the "Oh my papa" quest:

Talked to everyone in redrock, this was like 10 hours ago (gametime) so I can't just reset to a previous gamesave. The quest "Oh my papa" did not start back then though, I had to have the NCR quest to talk to them for it to activate. Wild card quest did not count.
I have the diary from Caesar.

Things I have not done: I don't have Karls Diary. Should I load a state before I report to the girl at the Hoover Dam, steal Karls Diary, report to her?

I'm lost Sorry for the bad description, it's hard to write when you're tired and frustrated. Second quest to bug for me, atleast Fallout 3 had zero questbugs for me :/

I feel your pain, I didn't have any prequests before Red Rock, I just stumbled onto it...

I talked to Regis, Papaa Khan and Karl, got the quest and ran through the dialogue, but couldn't convince Papa to stop the alliance so I left the house. Karl stopped me and explained my options, so I went back in with my 90 Speech and pissed Karl off infront of Papa where they all proceeded to give him "lead poisoning". After that I talked to the couple down by the trailers to get them to go against the alliance and then ran down to the quarry to talk to Melissa...



Once I talked to Melissa I convinced her that she would be sold into slavery, so she had my back also.

Finally, Regis.....

Regis is a [censored]! I got the letter from the footlocker in Karls old room and go back to him and there is no dialogue even though I have the proof! So what I have right now is an incomplete task with no quest markers and worst yet, no dialogue text to complete this! :banghead:

And that issue had nothing to do with mine :/ Hate hate hate this atm. I want to finish the game but this stops me.

If you don't mind console commands, then:

should reset it, enabling you to make other choices. Make a save before doing it, as resetting quests can be a buggy process.

I wrote it, pressed enter, some stuff came up about stages being set to 000000 etc etc, then nothing happend :S

My bad, I have no idea why I wrote sqs. You want, predictably, "resetquest 00140C3A".

Either the journal or the note in Caesar's tent will do. The thing is you don't turn it in to Regis, you turn it in to Papa Khan.

Did they already hate you when you first traveled there? I had this exact same problem and that was the only thing I could think of as to why the quest wouldn't go any further. Killing Papa only causes that quest to fail so that isn't an option but the NCR lady will be happy with you. Another thing that I was thinking that caused this problem is at first I was just doing every quest I could until I got a couple that said the Legion and NCR are not liking what I am doing and if I continue down that path they will come after me. That is when I decided which group to support (NCR) but I was wondering if a quest I had down conflicted with this one but for some reason did fail like it should have. Probably not related to this but right after I killed Papa I started having many graphics issues which led to my game going black and white, no color except for the HUD. I hope that isn't like this once I get off work.

I turned it into Regis, who then said he'd support me with Papa. So there must be multiple quests, with similar though ever-so-slightly different objectives.

It's the same objectives, the only difference is you turn the note into Regis, but the journal you turn into Papa Khan. Papa Khan will then order the Great Khans to kill Karl, and in the process Regis will be convinced. Either one will do.

I'm having a similar issue with the journal. I've turned the couple and Melissa and made Karl flip so he got shot to bits. I got the note from the footlocker but when i speak to either Regis or Papa,i get no dialogue regarding the journal. Do i have to wait until i recover the note from Caesars tent and have both items or am i missing something. BTW I can't find Melissa anymore (she's not in the quarry encampment) so i don't know if i have to speak to her again.I have no mission marker either. XBOX360 version.
