http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_11_support (all gone)
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-560ti-us.html (changed)
"Built for DirectX 11
Enjoy all the visual glory of the latest DirectX? 11 blockbuster games like HAWX 2, and Civilization 5. With massive geometry processing power of the GeForce GTX 560 Ti lets you enjoy incredibly detailed environments and characters."

I smell someone trying to reduce dmg done to their rep....

So, what features of DX11 do you feel are necessary? What features of DX11 do you feel the game is "broken" without implementing? Is tessalation that vital? Is a new shader model that vital? A very solid grasp and execution of DX9 can still produce a powerful system-crunching experience. In fact, I'd rather a game be well-done in DX9 than poorly done in DX11. It takes a lot of time to come up to speed with the implementation.

I mean, seriously, yes, 11 is a bigger number than 9. But do people biching about "dur no DX11!" really even understand what the hell they're talking about?

Well, crytek hopfully knows, if there is noch DX 11 version the comming Weeks/Month this game will be a flopp!

Dont misunderstand me! The story is great and it looks good but if you go back to 2007 and think about you played the first time crysis 1....

Me and a lot of other ppl bought the game not only for the good story and the avarange multiplayer modus. They wanted to 'destroy' their hardware ^^ - crysis were like a benchmark. But crysis 2 is meybe as good looking as the first titel.

so plz crytek..... RELEASE THE DAMN DX 11 PATCH!

Well, "vital" is such a big word... If you put it that way, even playing games in general is not "vital", don't you think?
In a very few words, tessellation makes games look better and introduces more realistic interactions/reactions between moving objects and the environment and it's a pity it won't probably see the light of day in a self-proclaimed "ground breaking" videogame like Crysis 2.
Also, if you check out crytek.com, you will find an article about Cryengine 3/Crysis 2 where the developers express great satisfaction in having Crysis 2 named "best looking shooter ever on consoles" by CVG. Why not putting so much effort on the PC version, too, considering the first Crysis sold 3 millions+ on PC alone and in 2010 developers themselves said they were maxing each version of the game independently?
I don't care about insulting and menacing Crytek because it's useless and I don't care if they become a console (read Xbox 360. Codename Kingdoms, anyone?) exclusive developer because there's nothing I can do about it. However, I think it's legitimate to express disappointment if a sequel doesn't top or equals the original. Even Gamespot and Eurogamer didn't give C2 the same mark Crysis 1 received, in spite of their triumphant reviews

direct x is on its way out.

anyway no dx9 card would be powerfull enough to run bf3 even if it did support it so why bother.

I really enjoyed the game a lot, though I'm not sure I would consider anything "groundbreaking" in it. But my only requirement for a game is that it play well and be enjoyable. So I give it 4 stars out of 5 for that. I speak of single player, though. I've not played mulitiplayer and not sure that I will ever get to that. I've been playing Crysis 1 since it came out. I mean every couple months I'll go play the fun levels in it. I'm pretty sure I'll do the same here. I never get tired of seeing that bridge ripple up and collapse. Them's just good visuals...even if they are 512x512 textures. LOL.
