I Think I Found A Problem With Brink

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:47 am

ok so i noticed there is NO LOBBY SYSTEM for you and your freinds.
example: i want to play brink with 8 of my freinds against 8 humans. how do i get all 8 buddies in there with me? this applies to however many people you want in there.

You join a friend's game, or start a party and have the match leader start a game.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its like this. If not, we'll just wait for tomorrow.

Couldn't you just make a game for you and your seven friends? Not likes it cost you anything.

Maybe you will all have to join a player's party and game until all 8 of you are playing against bots
and then the leader can switch over to multiplayer and you will all hopefully keep playing together
against other humans....if you can find a game with an empty room for your team to fill.

I'm still clueless as to how all of this will work.

You create a private match and get your buddies in, set up your fireteam once you are all there, and then join another public game.

They already stated in the interview. There is no lobby cuz they wanted to practically eliminate lobby wait time. You either start up a game that has bots and your friends join replacing the bots or you join a friends game replacing a bot hes playing with. There are no match making lobbies.

Meaning you'll have a hard time going online against others with 7 of your friends :l

ok yeah i get that you invite your freinds into a match, but if you set it up to where you play against enemy players (which is anybody can join) how long will it take before your freinds are unable to join?

Assuming they didn't scrap the feature (why would they?) it should be accesible in game and will allow you to add players on your team to a "group", a sub-team, which is supposed to stay together as it joins new games and such.

"you start the game right? when you start it a cut scene happens, this is the "lobby" invite your friends or make them join, they will be on your team unless you get 7 people instantly in that time who are the same side as you."

"What it likely means is that between matches you won't get kicked back to a lobby like in Call of Duty, where you wait for a 60 second timer to count down and people jump in. You'll probably just invite friends prior to starting a match and continue playing with bots if the other side doesn't get enough people or a dude drops out."

Just breathe and think about it for a moment. All you would have to do on consoles is start a party on xbox live and the psn equivalent, invite all of your friends and have one of them join in a game. Then you all immediately follow him as soon as the option comes up. The same concept works with PC gamers, as well - you just have to agree on an acceptable server first.
