I'm RPing a Dunmer thief.
When she arrived in Skyrim she became a beggar. I made her look like one too, with no makeup and dirt on her face. Her hair is also rather regular, no fancy braids or whatever. I feel that you get rich rather quickly so I invest all my money into skills.
Anyway, she's got a talent for thievery, sneaking, archery and swordfighting. So I eventually will make her richer because of these talents. So whenever I feel like she ''ranked up'', I do so and keep more gold.
Beggar (Wear ragged robes in city.) > Peasant (Wear any low end apparal in city, remove dirt and change hairstyle.) > Wealthy citizen (Fancy clothes like fine clothes or maybe Noble clothes. And makeup.) That said, I'm not only going to do crimes to get gold. When she's becoming a peasant she'll be doing more honest work aswell like hunting and helping farmers.
I will join the Thieves Guild at a rather early level (out of desperation), but truly dig into it at a much later level. So that Nightingale armour and weaponry will have better stats. I do this because eventually she'll become ''good'' of some sorts and be like a Robin Hood kind of figure. I will continue stealing, but mainly from the corrupt and wealthy which she will then give to poor citizens. (In RP atleast.) The Nightingale will thus become a symbol for the poor. I'll probably also make her a bounty hunter of some sorts.
And eventually I think she will also become a Vampire, but she will continue serving Nocturnal regardless. (Besides, falmer armour would probably look badass with the hood.)
I feel that this might make a thief RP more refreshing for me to do. It still includes crimes, but also plenty of combat and some honest work. Given my plans about her wealth, I will also feel more immersed in the story. From lowlife beggar to a ''heroine'' of the poor, and a rich woman herself.
Sure I could just be your regular thief that robs people just for the cash. But I feel that would lose it's touch quickly.
