I think I have the skill List

Post » Thu Mar 10, 2011 12:15 pm

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Dual Weapon skill instead of Hand-to-Hand.

Actually for dual wielding you'll just assign one 1h weapon to each hand I think. Cause I know with spells you gotta equip the spell to your hand and you can't use spells with dual weapons/sword and shield

of all the skills in the entire game they could possibly take out, Hand-to-Hand is probably the least likely.

spears? yeah. mysticism? alright. but the ability to punch a dude in the face is the most basic defense we as human beings possess.

also acrobatics staying in and athletics being ditched seems the most plausible, over them being merged. acrobatics actually serves a purpose - athletics never really did.

The reason I believe that acrobatics is still in is because: 1 they said they removed athletics so there's less competition. 2. They said they would combine all the weapon skills into one and two handed weapon skill. This makes me believe they also combined the two types of armor, which leaves an empty space for acrobatics. 3. It is actually has a use.

Link?

I got this form reading every article game-informer has done so far on Skyrim. The Podcast they did is the most convincing evidence for this list.

that seems right and if it is im pissed..HOW CAN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE ARMOR SKILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
i didn't wanna believe it when you posted it but i looked around to and im pretty sure your right but im hoping your wrong..

Armour is a passive skill. You are not required to do anything but take damage to improve it. Also, realistically, there is little skill involved in wearing armour. There is some skill to moving about succesfully, but once you are used to it, that's about it, not a truly great advantage for a TES game, and IMO not worthy of any skill at all. You can't be better at surviving strikes because of your skill in wearing armour.

EDIT: And multiple armour skills is particularly ridiculous. So if you are good at wearing heavy bulky armour, you may still svck at easier, lighter armour?

With perks one armor skill makes sense. Just like how one handed weapons makes sense. Heck, this way we may even get no armor, light, medium, and heavy again via perks with one armor skill.

Dude one Armor skill would be boss. Think about it. In towns or while going to a new location you could wear light armor so you're quick on your feet, and if you have to fight a dragon or something else big and beefy you could put on some steel plates for the duration. Honestly I think it would work a lot better.

im still slightly disagreeing but i didnt think of it that way i just think some people would be better at wearing heavy armor than light also if there is only one skill they better have more diverse armor stats..i got to a 100 in both light and heavy armor in OB and heavy protected my slightly more and light was slightly faster..that needs to change..also dont make fun of me im new what does IMO mean i see that all the time

Light/Heavy Armors might be different perks under the Armor skill.

Why would heavy armour not protect you more? Why would light armour not allow more movement than heavy armour? I wasn't making fun of you. I was stating why I believe those armour skils to be poor game mechanics. IMO means "In my opinion".

Looks good to me, and very very plausible. I think most of the skills that they took out from Oblivion will be perks underneath the skills that are available. Really with the perks I think it is going to seem like we are getting more skills instead of less. That is how it feels to me.

I believe you are right my friend. At first I thought the "armor" skill would be dumb but the more I think about it the more it makes sense and probably will be a skill because of the perk system (which I really like by the way).

hahaha buddy i know your werent making fun of me i was saying dont make fun of me because i dont know what IMO meant and i saw it all the time..your good.. and with the armor stats.. what i was saying is in OB if you have a 100 in both light and heavy,, the heavy protects a tiny bit more and the light makes you a tiny bit faster.. what i was saying is that is skyrim i am hoping using heavy armor has a bigger penalty on speed and light armor has a bigger penalty on protection

TO EVERYONE ELSE

i have been converted..i forgot about the perk tree i completely agree with the one armor sill as long as the perk tree separates it into specialties

no news about sneak/security being somehow merged together? I think I had read it somewhere but don't remember where. Probably some speculation around here. It would be absurd, imo.

It wouldnt be only if the only porpuse of skills this time is to make you choose better perks, and nothing else.

I highly doubt that security and sneak will be combined. There just not close enough to warrant that. Plus there really isn't anything that can take one of there places, unless there adding a totally new skill.

The more you use a skill the better you get at it. Perks are just an extension of that. It's a perk for getting better.

In the podcast Todd said he put the alchemy skill in stealth to make room for enchanting, so it is definitely a skill. And what would Speech be a perk of? Two handed weapons? No, it must be it's own skill. Plus they already said they combined speech and mercantile, so speech is to diverse to be absorbed by something else.

This. I think they have done some awesome stuff with Speech and I'm sure there are some really cool perks for it.

No way. Speechcraft is undoubtedly inclusive now of mercantile and a skill (-aft is seen in a screen of the skill list). Alchemy has been stated as a skill outright, and far more versatilethan many other skills.
