I think I have the skill List

Post » Thu Mar 10, 2011 12:02 am

I through cross referencing all the official sources have come up with what I think is the real skill list for Skyrim. I'm 90% sure I'm exactly right, however I may not have the exact names. This is the list.

Combat Skills:

One Handed Weapon
Two Handed Weapon
Block
Smithing/repairing
Hand-to-hand
Armor (wearing)

Stealth Skills:

Sneak
Lock pick
Ranged
Speech
Acrobatics
Alchemy

Magic Skill:

Restoration
Destruction
Alteration
Illusion
Conjuration
Enchanting.

Tell me what you think, but I would be surprised if I'm wrong about this one.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Dual Weapon skill instead of Hand-to-Hand.

The ones I doubt the most are acrobatics and armour. I forget whether athletics, acrobatics, or both was removed. Or if it is even reliably known.

Lock pick? Sounds really improbable?

of all the skills in the entire game they could possibly take out, Hand-to-Hand is probably the least likely.

spears? yeah. mysticism? alright. but the ability to punch a dude in the face is the most basic defense we as human beings possess.

also acrobatics staying in and athletics being ditched seems the most plausible, over them being merged. acrobatics actually serves a purpose - athletics never really did.

So where's the "AFT" skill? "AFT" can be seen in the skill screen which was obviously cut off.

I REALLY doubt that. Dual wielding is already covered by one handed weapon skill. There's no point of it and it works too closely with a specific skill but no others. It reduces your freedom because it says you have to choose this skill to work well with this skill, and if you don't choose one handed weapons it's completely useless, and if you don't choose dual wielding with one-handed, you are at a disadvantage. Hand to hand can be better integrated into other skills or work by itself.

That really doesn't make much sense as a skill. If a player chooses to use one handed weapons, they are in fact always dual wielding. A fist and a sword, a sword and a shield, two axes, two shields. The dual wielding skill is the one handed skill, its not like the player is just going to use their right hand and let their left hand just sit there. Both hands are going to be doing something, be them using two handed weapons or just one handed ones.

Edit due to being ninja-ed. :shifty:

There will be dual wield perks but no skill.

he said "speech". speechcraft. aft.

his names obviously aren't the names as they'll appear in the game, but you can get the gist.

That's what I think. I would prefer acrobatics to still be included rather than the heavy/light armor categories.

BTW Speech is Speechcraft (almost guranteed from the screenshot).

They have, I suspect, chosen the wrong name, but it's basically security.

Wrong name again, but SPEECHCRAFT.

you guys are forgetting about his original post. he is saying those are the basic skills but he dosent know the names. like lock picking in OB was called security.. he is giving you the actions of each skill AFT could be a new form of acrobatics or athletics combined we dont know but after reading those i am pretty sure that has to be close. good job

I said I might not have the exact names. The aft is most likely speech craft.
