Think ive Reached the Mod Limit

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:15 pm

Well, recently I installed a couple of new mods, but when is tarted my game, and switched some weapons, EVERYTHING turned into an exclamation mark. Armor, weapons, you name it. As soon as I disabled a couple of mods, it didnt matter which ones, I already tested that, it worked just fine again. What is the mod limit and is there anyway to get around it?

The esp/esm limit is 255. How many do you have?

While that indeed is the hard engine limit on the number of esms+esps, it is known that the engine can get into serious trouble when using significantly fewer mods.

You could merge some mods to a bashed patch to save slots.

I recently reinstalled WinXP and ran into this issue, I think it has something to do with the OS and the game engine. I was able to load MANY more mods before I was forced to reinstall windows. The only difference I can think of is currently i am using SP2 and not SP3 as I was before.
