If it is handled like Fallout, then even with the CD you have to download it through Steam. The only reason to get the physical copy is for the preorder bonuses and haveing a pretty case to look at.

I thought all the Origin games were Origin-Exclusive now ... that EA was basically saying NOPE to Steam's service.

::shrug:: I buy most games on Steam now. I bought New Vegas that way. You have to authenticate through Steam anyway now, so if you don't care about the physical case, why not? I find it easier than going down to a store at midnight, driving home and installing it. Instead, by buying it on Steam, I pre-load the game before hand, then go to bed and wake up AT midnight, spend 10 minutes letting the pre-load decrypt and then start playing. Easy stuff.

I thought all the Origin games were Origin-Exclusive now ... that EA was basically saying NOPE to Steam's service.

What does that have to do with anything? Skyrim is developed AND published by Bethesda. EA isn't involved in any way.

Normally Steam would be first choice for me, but not TES. I have to have the map that comes with the game. It's just part of the experience for me.
