I'm considering taking off but I don't want to take off and end up with broke down server.....
But I so want to take the day off....

You meaning the 5 day head start? Yeah it's worth it. Sounds like you won't be stuck in a que if everything works
Besides when is it ever not a good idea to call in sick or take a day off!
Take it off, but have a back up plan. . . . . just in case. Or just have many cases on standby.
My launch day is Sunday.... 30.03.2014... Just saying.
a lot of people will be in the early access, including myself. So if there are issues, it will be during that...i found it odd they released on a friday, now it makes more sense.
but i did bookend my weekend with friday and monday off. so no, it's worth 2 days!
Did they say Sunday? I'm in the US....I guess that would be 5 days but still I didn't know if it was going to be Sunday or Monday.
Oh I'm in early access as well, that's what I'm talking about.
One day... I'm taking eleven... for the low low price of 1 out of 4 weeks of paid vacation I am entitled to each year.
Got to love days owed!
I am not planning on playing the first day (mostly because I have plans for the evening of the 4th)
Now, the Monday following release weekend (assuming you don't have early access), that would be the day to take off. Because by then you will be neck deep in quests and not wanting to go to work. For early access, that maybe worth taking that day off, which should be Monday? I guess that depends on how they count back the 5 days.
Well Sunday is the 30th for early access. I'm not sure though what time. I'm GMT zone for what its worth.
5-day early access begins https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4839/kw/early%20access%20date. I'm not certain, and it doesn't say officially, but I have heard it may literally begin at midnight EST, which would mean 9PM Saturday night for us on the U.S. west coast.
That detail aside, unless you work on Sunday, I recommend taking that day off on Monday and gearing up for some serious gaming.
It is a tradition I have followed for a number of games over the years. Skyrim, Dragon Age, XCOM, Dragons Dogma already have two days of leave planned for ESO on console launch day.
I'm taking the whole week off. I got a ton of leave so why not lol. If the first day is crappy I'm sure I'll make up for it in one of the following days.
-Mongoose
I've taken the 3rd, 4th and 7th off. To let things settle before I really dive in.
I would never take time off work for any game. No matter how much I may be looking forward to it. But, yes, I have seen enough MMO launches to add that into consideration.
The week after is always, always better.
I'm going to go ahead and call it now... there will be major server issues on April 4th.
I have a baby due on March 31st, which is also my birthday, and I'll be taking a week off for the new baby....
And new baby means GAMING TIME.
I took my precious PTO from work, so when I get off from work the 29th, which gives me roughly 9 hours to sleep/prepare and say good bye to the family and friends until the 7th. Took 5 days of PTO to have off from the 30th to the 7th . I even move the PC to the guess room and I will be installing a mini refrigerator next to it, to hold beverage...hehe.
