For isntance, if the AI of a target NPC says it can wander right or left, and I'm to the left of it, 9 times out of 10, it's going to go left... which will spot me and deny me of sneak-attacking. I know this because of repeated save-scumming.
I've not noticed this pattern, to be honest. I've had plenty of sneaking in some of my games, too.
And if there's more than one NPC... the game is gonna make it so that it's practically impossible for me to sneak up on just one of them undetected.
Really? Hmmm. I mean, I think I know what you're saying, but umm. So you're saying if there are mutliple NPC's all standing in the same room, if you sneak up on them, you're
always going to be detected? Did I get that right? Is that what you meant to say?
This might be true at lower levels of sneak, but as you get especially past Journeyman, your character's ability to sneak will get much better. Renee Gade II got so good at it, she could pretty much walk past groups of enemies...and I mean right past them. Bump into them occasionally and still not be detected.
Of course, if I do manage to sneak up on one... the AI is gonna kick into gear and make the NPC wander away from me... then turn around. Note that this isn't isolated events- in practically every dungeon I go to almost all the enemies will do this. And let's not start up about bandit camps...
Yea, they back up sometimes, but other times they just unsheath their weapon and come straight towards you.
Sentiecne. I had to look that up, it's been so long since I used that word! Oblivion (and Skyrim) do have a sentience about them. Sentience = consciousness, basically. :tes:
