Think of the Worst Possible Feature to Add in Fallout 4

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 9:17 pm

So far, we have made many threads discussing confirmed features and mechanics, as well as predicting possible features to be present in Fallout 4. To sort of break the monotony and add some humor to the forums, I figured we could come up with any feature we think could ruin the game. You can list a terrible gameplay mechanic, or any type of addition (item, location, character behavior, ect.) that comes to mind.

I'll start off: Deathclaws can only be defeated via a quicktime event, Resident Evil style. If you fail to press the long series of buttons that the game randomly selects each within 0.3 seconds, the Deathclaw kills you and then locks the save file you were playing on. A message pops up on the screen, asking you to pay $5.00 to progress with your character.

Let's see what else people can come up with.

sorry for being down to earth :-), but for me, turn based combat would totally kill the game

edit: and save points every 100 miles instead of quicksave :-)

These are already part of the Fallout Universe.

OnTopic:

I agree with the OP on less quicktime events.

Another bad thing they could add is the non-skippable kill-cam. It's quite annoying to get shot at from enemy B while you are forced to watch enemy As slow death.

Real hardcoe mode where you share the same fate as your character. If the character dies you die the same way. Likely will be tied in with the pipboy app and the pipboy glove edition.

Adding Moria Brown.

"Hey there! I just moved from my old, "Crater SideSupply", because for some reason, the whole city became a crater! So your a vault dweller? I knew a vault dweller from vault 101! The last thing he said to me was,
"Enjoy hell" Would you like to help me out with something? I know of this place called the Super Duper Mart, and you should check it for supplies... Dont worry, its totally safe..."

If you decide to join a morally good faction, the leader gives you a piece of armor called "Motherly Madness". It has a DR rating of zero and you cannot remove it for the rest of the game.

It talks just like the Stealth Suit Mk. II armor from New Vegas, but is way more annoying and actually harmful. The armor monitors your actions in the wasteland and starts to nag you when you do something bad. If you steal from another character, Motherly Madness takes your most valuable item and turns it to dust. If you kill an innocent civilian, the armor blocks access to your Stimpacks and Doctor's Bags, then proceeds to cripple each of your body parts one by one. All this while berating you and mentioning how she should have used birth control.

Card games with complicated rules. I really don't care for them in any game.

And multiplayer.

As far as I know it was once just a gag, but became canon with Fallout 3.

You can meet the vampires in fallout 3.

And as far as I can recall there was also a story with a "Were-Yaoguay".

And due the fact vanilla FO3 is canon, all this has become canon.

A really super cool feature that blows your mind and turns out to be your favorite feature of the whole game ... but it's only in one side quest, and never seen again.

Dude, the guys in Fallout 3 weren't vampires. They were a cult of cannibals who, as a means of protection, co-opted the vampire myths to their benefit. They drank blood on the orders of Vance under the cult ideal of being "vampires" instead of "cannibals".

If you spoke to Vance for all of five minutes, he actually says as much!

enemy weapons fire/melee is purely cosmetic and all enemies die in one hit and die in a poorly sprited explosion. sound for said explosion is paid dlc with a monthly subscription.

Well tbh - What he said to me doesn't matter in these forums. Because I played the cut german Fallout 3 version.

Due to localization and years since I have last touched that ripped-apart-chunk of software some stuff might have gone missing/wrong.

Also I do remember his eyes wich didn't looked much human to me. Maybe that's another reason for the confusion.

Thanks for getting this straight guys.

Dead is dead system where dieing in game deletes all your save files...

Well actually some people play mods that do that kind of thing.

How about a pick pocketing NPC that can take your stuff and you will not know it until you check your inventory! :ahhh:
