Think there's a way to put M'aiq the Liar in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 2:29 am

I know that it's been 200 years since Oblivion, but there could ALWAYS be something stupid, funny, and downright insane. If it beaks immersion than fine, his quotes broke immersion. If you want to be realistic, than just ignore him. Perhaps he found a new Heart of Lorkhan? Or maybe he received immortality as part of Sheogorath's favor? Or he could have killed enough Mudcrabs to earn it from the TES community. Or it could be a new M'aiq, and it works kind of like the Grey Fox, passed down from M'aiq to M'aiq.

Face it, almost everybody enjoyed finding M'aiq the Liar outside of the main gate at various towns in Oblivion (IDK where he was in Morrowind, never found him). I wanna 'nother M'aiq.

EDIT: And if M'aiq IS in Skyrim, he had better have a quote going something like "There are a bunch of dragons flying around, ARE YOU HAPPY????"

As I said on this a few threads ago:

M'aiq: 'Be careful around dragons, they are fragile. M'aiq broke one and ended up here!'

I think the devs should just put him in and say "He is an easter egg so Please continue, my good sir.."

Good enough for me.

Seconded. I hope that is in the game word for word.

It has to be at least semi-immersible, what you just said it a TES equivalent to a parent saying to their child at their fifth Christmas, "Santa is just a fairy tale that if you get all peppy and happy for, and you behave for from Thanksgiving to about December 20, we'll give you extra presents and say they are from him." That takes all the fun and magic out of it.

Make him a big Khajiit dragon, so that way no one misses him and his awesome wisdomness ( made up word. )
As for immersion breaking untill the npcs sit on loos, fart and blame it on the dog / old person in front.. it's not that immersive.

I just hope I can kill him if he's in. Bethesda will probably troll us though by making him the only immortal NPC.

Not necessarily.

Perhaps M'aiq has achieved CHIM.

But this is a game. We already know it isn't real and there isn't any changing that regardless of how immersive it is. He doesn't need an explanation, although I do like the quote being posted so far. Screw it, do that.

You know what, he should(instead of running) have his own Dragon mount. With a spear in his hand and a crossbow on his saddle.

I'm with Caustic. "M'aiq thinks people who ask for dragons should be more cautious in what they wish for."

Id really love if Bethesda started selling a M'aiq plush. It could even come with the hood and the hat, which can be interchanged!
