Thinking about the Mass Effect Collection

Post » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:19 am

So I had played through all of the Mass Effect games in the past and I was thinking of getting the Mass Effect Collection on Steam since it was on sale but I've been reading up on the amount of hoops you have to go through to get the DLC and how you have to use Bioware points or some crap instead of just buying them outright.

I've really been wanting to do a playthrough of all the Mass Effect games and I really wanted to do it on PC but I'm wondering if it's really worth it or should I just get all 3 on console.

That doesn't include all three games, does it? I thought ME3 was exclusive to Origin.

Just avoid the hassle and get them all on Origin, or console.

I don't know about Steam, but the ME Trilogy Collection on Xbox and PS3 is around $25... That's a damn good deal.
The PS3 version has some of the DLC, but I don't think the Xbox version does.

Either way, the DLC goes on sale at least 2-3 times a year for consoles, so I bet Steam gets these deal too.
I recently got all the essential DLC for all three games for about $30 (not including unnecessary extras like multiplayer maps, weapons and costumes)

So you can get very good deals, but if you've already played through the trilogy, I'd only do it if you really needed to.

Steam has Mass Effect 1 & 2 on sale for $17.49 but it doesn't have any of the DLC which you have to buy directly from Bioware using a credit card or something which I don't have. I was hoping to just use Steam instead of Origin or console because the last time I used Origin was a horrible experience and my Xbox 360 hasn't been turned on in about a year and the last time I used it the disc drive was acting funky.

How do you buy games on Origin anyway? Is there card you can buy like with Steam or do you have to put a credit card in there?
