Hey all, so my vampire lord form is permanently boned. It's almost unusable because of how long it takes to transform. As in, five minutes. And then I'm pretty much stuck in that form forever after that. So, a few questions:

1. If I delete Dawnguard and start it over, will I be able to become a werewolf a third time?

2. Does anybody know if completely restarting Dawnguard will solve my issues with becoming a VL?

The reason it took five minutes to transform(this must be an exaggeration...) is: Your amount of spells you know + powers, shouts, etc + how large your save file may be.

That has nothing to do with it. VLs only have their equipment unequipped upon transformation. They still have all their spells and such. The ability to access them is simply taken away. What causes this seems to be getting cured and turned back multiple times.

How large is your Vampire's save file? What system are you on?

The more play time, the more scripts build up. The more scripts build-up the longer the delay.

I forget exactly how large it is, I don't have my XBox currently. As for my system, I use Xbox, but also assume I can switch to PC without official mods.

I've tested this. What triggers it is curing myself and then turning into a vampire again. I'm wondering if completely restarting Dawnguard will solve my issues.

To convince you:

I first noticed this when I cured myself for the face sculptor. I noticed some lag when I turned back to a VL, but nothing terrible. I cured myself 1-2 more times, which got me into my current situation. To test my theory, I cured myself once more, which doubled my transformation time. I revert back, and my transformation time is reverted to the original, almost unbearable, amount of time.

I cannot personally speak for this particular issue as i have not encountered it myself however recently i was suffering from the rather well known dawnguard related c++ crash and i found disabling dawnguard, booting up the save without dawnguard and then saving before reactivating dawnguard to reset it to the start fixed the issue so it is likely worth a shot though i would wait for more peoples opinions. Also due to being a pc user i did use the clearinvalidregistrations command from skse after first disabling which may have affected it. If the issue i faced is anything to go by then a dawnguard reset may be what you are looking for but wait for other people's opinions as well.
