Thinking of returning to Oblivion...A few questions

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 6:10 pm

Hello all. So stated in the title, I am thinking of returning to Oblivion...Mostly because of all the epic mods that have been made since I stopped playing quite awhile ago...(And the fact Skyrim is PISSING ME OFF atm, so I wll wait for bugfixes and CK....)
In the meantime,

pretty much the ONLY thing stopping me from playing is the simple fact that vanilla NPC's (and the chargen in general) are HIDEOUS!!!.....SO UGLY! lol I look at all the armor, weapons, quests, and sweet new mods only to be turned off by the vanilla faces....And its not such an easy thing to fix like in Morrowind where you could just replace the whole head....I did a short search on nexus for mods that fixed Oblivion uglyness, but the only thing I could really find were hair and eye packs...(Just so you know, I am fine with girls having Ren hair...But the dudes look so STUPID with Anime girly hair...No offense just my opinion...I wont get into my stance on TES + Anime because its neither here nor there)

So my questions are;

Is there any mods that replace Vanilla NPC's to non ugly ones?

How do people make the good looking woman/men that I see in screenshots?

Any (good) facial hair mods? lol

Any NON-Anime hair packs for men? I wouldnt mind a sweet mowhawk or somthing...

Thank you, I really hope its possible to fix all the eyesores in Oblivion that they call "faces" lol

Since you seem to dislike the anime style, Xeo is out, but luckily for you, there is http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1323436-relzvanilla-race-deluxe/. I don't use it myself (I use a combination of other mods, mostly Colourwheel's stuff and a general not giving a damn about male characters), but it looks nice, and should be just what you want.

As for making a nice character for yourself, VRD should help a lot if you want a Vanilla race, otherwise, just find a nice race mod you like, and spend a lot of time in the character creation menu.

Dont get me wrong, I have always been a HUGE Dragon Ball Z fan :shocking: lol. And also loved watching Cowboy Bebop,

But for me, TES and Anime are not supposed to be togeather (I realise I am probably the minority considering just how many Anime style mods there are..lol)

I am just not a fan of the dudes with haircuts and nicer hair in general than girls! hah...And even tho I said I feel that TES and Anime dont go together, I really dont mind if the girls have (somewhat) Anime-ish hair, just aslong as it makes them look good and its not over the top with a ponytail so long that it could wrap around the body, creating a belt of hair! (ok that might have been an exaggeration...lol)
But anyways yeah, that mod looks quite nice.

But really a race? I didnt realize thats how people were making there characters good looking! lol do you have any suggestions by chance?
And thanks for the suggestion, I will def use that mod to make the NPC's look better (It does change the NPC's aswell right?) and try and find a racemod to suite my character

One last thing, do you know of any hair mods for men that are actually for men?lol The best way to decide if it is, is if it would look good on a woman, its prolly not what im goin for...haha

And please, noone take offense to the things I have said about Anime, I do not mean to offend anyone, it is just my personal preferance :thanks:

There are many, many body types, facial and texture replacements that people use, all to different results. If you can point to specific images that you like, we can probably tell you what was used to make them that way (or at least make effective guesses). Otherwise, all we can do is point to TES Nexus and the advanced search function, the category "Models and Textures." Tons of excellent stuff, there.

I agree with fable2. Terms like "over the top," "look so STUPID," "look ugly," "good looking," "look better," "non ugly" and "the chicks are still buttugly," convey exactly nothing.

Perhaps pictures would convey what you're after?

Look up Younger Hotter NPCs, or Race Balancing Project's Beautification plugins.
