I saw a thread someone started about freezing in 2 spots while having Cass as a companion. I found it quite profound since this is exactly the reason I signed on here tonight. I'm getting a freeze every time I try to enter the North Gate to the Strip. Never had this problem before when I had Veronica as a companion. Now I'm unable to get through the North Gate at all. I even dropped Cass as a companion and I'm still unable to pass through the gate. Every time I try the screen goes black and my PS3 gets locked up and I have to restart.

I'm very seriously wondering if anyone even tested this damed game at all before releasing it. By far it's the buggiest game I've ever played on PS3. Hopefully they patch it soon, but for now, I'm trading it to get a game I can actually play. It's a shame that I have this incredibly awesome game that's so completely broken. It's one of the best games I've ever played but the glitches and bugs strip every ounce of the fun from it. I'm thinking this will be the last night playing it until they fix much of the problems in it. Right now it's just terrible. I'm sure glad I got it free cause I would be really pissed off if I had paid $60 for it. I really feel sorry for all of you that did!

That bug actually comes from McCaffery's hat from the quest "Debt Collector." If you kill him and take the hat, the only way to enter the strip (or exit casinos if you're already in there) is to be wearing either McCaffery's Hat or the Old Cowboy Hat.

You may be right. I never had any issues except occasional freezing which is normal(!) on my 1st character.
On my 2nd playthrough i hired cass and went to strip the game started freezing over and over again at same spots in casinos.
Sometimes when i entered a cell game even crashed.

I guess i will let van graffs kill her

They really need to do something about this.
And we still dont know an exact patch release date.
