My third letter to Bethesda

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:05 pm

I have disabled all the auto saves and it seems to help with the freezing, though why i should have to do that is beyond me.
Could you please answer my first question about wether you are working on another patch? also do you have employees who monitor the "issues" board of your forum for this game? There is a great deal of people complaining about the problems with this game and no one official seems to be answering anyones questions.

There seems to be a whole host of new problems since you released the last patch. One in particular which i have myself is the dissapearence of ED-E. I have not told him to wait anywhere, and even if i did shouldn't he be on the map as a marker? Also i know he isn't dead as i still have his enhanced sensors perk and NPCs keep making comments about the robot following me around, but he is nowhere to be seen. I now have the "ain't nothing but a hound dog" mission to do but i cannot take Rex because i cannot tell ED-E to wait.
I and a lot of people really hope this will be fixed shortly.

Hello,

This is technical support, we have nothing to do with the forums.

If you look on our forum page http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1125221-please-read-from-the-teams-at-obsidian-and-bethesda/ you can get news about future updates and patches for Fallout: New Vegas.

WOW. Thanks alot!!!

Po point in mailing them, just do a thread under the bug section and wait for a patch like everyone else.
Or if you're on PC; find a fan made patch.

The community managers, Gstaff and Nick, monitor the forums and report common problems, complaints, and requests. They generally keep us up-to-date when new information is released but it's common for Bethesda to keep patch developement under wraps until it's ready for release - if they mention that they are working on a patch and don't give an ETA it doesn't seem to affect people's feelings much, and if they did give an ETA and missed it all hell would break loose.

That's the best answer i've recieved by anyone. Thanks. But it would be nice to just hear them say "we have heard you about the problems you are reporting, we are actively working on it"

EVEN BETTER!!!

ME
I can tell my email wasn't even read fully as i was just told "not our problem" Not exactly what i should expect as a customer. If my email was read you would see that i also asked about a glitch involving the dissapearence of ED-E.

BETH
Hello,

ED-E sometimes defaults back to Vault 22 at the bottom of the elevator. If he does not appear there you may have to try a previous save and/or new game. The save game may have become corrupted beyond repair.

Brilliant. How am i supposed to roll back to a previous save to get ED-E back when i have no clue when he actually disappeared? not to mentioned it was probably about 20 hours ago.
Make a new game, great idea. I'll just throw away the 90 hours i've played already just to get back a companion that might just disappear again!
"The save game may have become corrupted beyond repair" Should have been followed by "sorry we released an unfinished/broken game"

It happens, guy. All we can do is log our complaints, and hope they are heeded. Maybe just give up on ED-E, and pay closer attention next time?
