A Third Person Mode

The Search. I used it!

I did! I.In that thread people are talking about the game itself,I'm talking about a private match option where you can toggle it
It's basically a multi mode not the game itself.

I'm one of those people who usually play Third-Person games, so this kind of thing could be cool, especially if you want to see your own avvie in action.

However, I don't care either way if it's included or not. ^_^
There's an ability called Sense of Perspective that switches to third-person, but I think that's only when you are doing an objective.

I'm against it not only because of the corners exploit but also because the character can get in the way of my field of view sometimes and I just don't like TPS if for any other reason that it breaks my sense of immersion.

I wouldn't see the damage in making it a separate mode? it lets you enjoy your customization, and if you don't want it you don't have to play that mode.
Also S.M.A.R.T. would look really BA (mind you it would probably take more time to learn when switching views)

I hate when people try to turn every FPS into a TPS, and by "turn into" I mean always ask for a stand-alone game-mode for it. My advice; if you want to play a TPS, buy and play a TPS.

P.S
I don't mean any offence, or to come off as rude, but it just annoys me.

I understand but this game mode will probably exist on Pc if they releaseSDK

Jeez buddy, slow your roll and actually read the whole thread before stating the obvious so, well obviously. That ability is for when you are hacking or planting/diffusing a bomb so in other words, when your standing still. OP wants to see his character at all times which is quite different.

I would like to admire my character in action too but I would rather achieve that via a theater mode.... that way I can make a whole movie set to music with sick editing (pans, zooms, transitions, the works)!! And like TPS, this may be possible through SDK, who knows?

So, I want to officially hijack this thread in favor of a THEATER MODE for BRINK!!! Who's with me!!??

I'm using an IPad and trust me it gets frustating when you have to write everything down all over again.

I understnd that. But it doent give you permission to just hate on a confuzed person. Now that this is settled... I would prefer a thrisd person mode to actually see my character and third person cover system would be awsome. :bonk:

Play the game in first person, watch the playback in theater mode however you want. IMO theater mode would better showcase the character customization, not to mention how useful it would be to review strategy and catch those using exploits (if there are any).

Theater > TPS, imo. :spotted owl:

I'm not a big fan of 3rd person. Only pro to it would be to see your character (back of there head and body). That's nothing special.

Some cons:

Glitch and lag when activating parkour movements.
Low depth perception.
Full extent of screening the area.
(Ignore this. I started to daydream.)

It would be a good idea. Nothing I would try tho.

I think it would be really hard to use SMART and to use your abilities while in 3rd Person. MW2 had 3rd person, we all know how much of a joke that turned out to be...

A theater mode would be great. ^_^

I wonder if the devs have something like a theater mode or if they are looking through another character's eyes or something, because in many videos I can see
the characters shooting and doing SMART in third-person, so......how do they do that? Or is it just the devs hack into the game to change the camera or something (because
they are actually making the game and can playtest their own game that way)?

I agree with the Theatre mode idea, it helps machinimas and can make for some pretty cool looking montages (although I'm against kill montages altogether.)

Anyway, I probably should have read the thread more clearer, and a game mode for Third Person Brink, would not exactly be something I want. However, thats what I don't want not what Splash Damage wants.

I'm not your guy, mate.

Well, if there actually were good TPS on PC ... but that's one initial problem.

We've had a good number of threads about that already.

Elaborate, WHY that would be, please. Thanks.

Also MW2 3rd person turned out to be great fun.

Some of the get SMART videos have camera angles that lead me to believe there may well be a theater mode... It might just be some jerky camera movement animations programmed in but if you look at some of the 3rd person panning shots and following shots they kinda don't flow in a sense. They flow to the same degree that a player controlling the camera with a controller/keyboard+mouse would be able to control the camera smoothly.

I've always preferred 3rd person, but like in MW2, the same controls and responsiveness for 3rd and 1st just doesn't translate well.

It would be nice if you can pick between 1st person and 3rd person on Brink it would bring more interest to the game and bring it more popularity.... Also they should have a theater mode like on COD that would be pretty Awesome. Post Comment PPL
