This is all fantastic

I read the IGN article, saw some new pictures, and am absolutely, positively ecstatic for Skyrim, but there's one thing that I still am dying to know. According the IGN article, Bethesda still has only shown anything pertaining to the 360 version. My problem with that is that I will not be playing the 360 version. I want to get a few screenshots and/or some in-game footage of the PS3 version and, out of curiousity, the PC version, as well. All I want is for the PS3 version to look as good as and perform as well as the 360 version (which I think looks amazing, by the way) and I'm worried that it may not. So, when do you believe we may some some screenshots/footage of the non-360 versions, why hasn't Bethesda shown such things already (I don't get it, what do they have to lose by doing so?), and do you think my fears are just the overly paranoid, irrational fears of a Skyrim fanatic (In other words, please help lay my fears to rest if you believe they are unfounded for and my own version will be just as good as the 360 version... or not, if you believe I do have reason to be worried)?

I think it's safe to bet that the PS3 graphics will be equivalent or ever so slightly better than what we've seen so far. If you look at any of the multiple side by side graphics comparisons on the internets for other games, you should have a good idea of what to expect.

Or just wait until they show some PS3 footage. But, yeah, PS3 should be just as good as what we've seen.

Yeah, most likely why. Probably also one of the reasons why Bethesda doesn't take advantage of the PC being capable of handling more than 6 year old consoles.

Still, I want to see PC version plz.

We're not seeing so much as a screenshot of other versions because Microsoft has money? What? Microsoft paid to have only the 360 version showed? What does that say about the possible quality of the game on other platforms?

I'm not assuming anything. I'm asking, hence the question marks. Truly, I'm asking.

360 is the weakest system graphics wise, that's the main reason why plus Beth could still be working on the PC version. It might not be as far along as the 360 version is.

Skyrim is being developed firstly on consoles, mainly on Xbox 360. The difference is said to be equal, when in reality, the platforms are unequal. Microsoft and Sony very often pays game companies to release their games on platform-exclusive, in order to lure more people to buy their console instead of the other. It's also possible Microsoft and Sony would pay game companies to focus less on a PC version, in order to lure more people to buy Skyrim on a specific console and not on PC.

Actually the xbox has the worst version often and they show it to everyone as an example so that when people buy the xbox version they can expect it to be as shown and the other versions will probably look even better.

Todd just wants to amaze everyone at the launch and not deceive them into thinking that their versions will have the l33t maximized computer graphics.Which is my guess in why he probably wont show the other versions.

I must agree. I'm playing it on the PC and, while I'm definitely not one to panic and buy into ideas like "they only care about the 360 version!" I really haven't heard or seen anything about anything other than the 360. Even in interviews, Todd always mentions how the 'right-bumper does this' or 'left-bumper does that.' That's nice and all, as the topic said, this is all fantastic...but I don't care about the 360. Every poll I've seen on the forum indicates that people play TES on PC more than 360. It's puzzling.

they release Xbox screens because the "worst console graphically" is the xbox 360, so now when the game is launched everyone is happy because the PC looks better and the xbox and PS3 look the same as all the screen shots so they dont feel betrayed. If they release PC screen shots, when release rolled around all the xbox/PS3 players would be asking why it looks so "bad".

the game build is probably only stable on 360 at the momment and that the platform on wich they first make the game. maybe they just prefer it,

@go play san andreas again its just [censored] ugly compared to oblivion. at least oblivion is not a pain to look at like san andreas

hey guess what, they are all going to look exactly the same.

(unless you game on the pc, in which case you'll find some minuscule way that the graphics are slightly different)

but hey guess what, i have thumb sticks.

I do agree. And I'm hoping that the PS3 version ill look slightly better than the 360. I mean it is more powerful so it should...

Unfortunately the majority of people that buy the game aren't on the forums (I think...atleast a big portion isn't :P ).

The one thing that annoys me, is that the PC (and to a lesser extent, the Ps3) are limited to a game which is NOT as good as it COULD be, because the developers insist on developing for Xbox360 (You know... The system that is inferior in multiple ways to the other console, not to mention the PC!), and then doing bad ports to other systems.

Like the PC :(

But in all honesty, most people buy games on consoles. I remember reading somewhere how F:NV was bought like 300k copies on PC, but like 1400k on consoles together or something. Not in exact numbers, but I remember it being far more on consoles.

I doubt Bethesda's servers could handle even 5 percent of the people that will buy the game.

Does anyone know how this whole situation played out with Fallout 3 before it was released? Was it similar to the current situation with Skyrim? How long before Fallout 3 was released were PS3/PC screenshots/gameplay footage released?

I don't play on consoles, but I often see games release on both systems and the 360 version always seems to get reviewed a little higher, looks a little better, etc. Yet multiple people are saying its the weaker of the two, why? Are you just going by system specs? Some system exclusive games?
